East Stand Burger Van
At least the burger van had one taking money and the other serving(with gloves on). Clean. Hope this is fed back to the club.

How about the lovely diesel exhaust fumes from these outlets, brilliant? As for anything for veggies, no chance for us wierdos.1

Everything leaves a carbon footprint though mate. Surely they could add jacket potatoes to the menu?seth plum said:How about the lovely diesel exhaust fumes from these outlets, brilliant? As for anything for veggies, no chance for us wierdos.

There's only one burger and hot dog stall worth visiting - the one in Harvey Gardens run by that family that used to do it from their garden. They do decent quality sausages and they never give you a crap bun. I respect them a lot for their choice of ingredients.2

Best pie I've ever had was at Carrow Road, but then when your owner is a renowned chef you expect some good grub. Anyone know what RD is like in the kitchen?MSE7 said:

Always use this before a game when I can go. I call it the "Whine Bar" as many around can be heard giving their general thoughts on the current situation beforehand. Always ask for two burgers and two glasses of dry white wine (chilled please). Only get the burgers though ):JiMMy 85 said:There's only one burger and hot dog stall worth visiting - the one in Harvey Gardens run by that family that used to do it from their garden. I noticed that its now gone forever. I am talking about the burger van up near the south stand. I must take issue with the dirty rollover hot dog stalls I have seen emerge. These are single manned. I witnessed the person serving taking money then putting their hands all over the buns and serving them up to fans. Its a health and safety issue. Surely we are better than that?
Amazed Henry Irving hasn't pulled you up on this yet............1 -
Well at yesterday's game I saw the same stalls manned by a female this time who wiped her nose with her hand then served up a hotdog.
Sexy.2 -
This. I have to buy my 11 year old a double burger from here every home game.JiMMy 85 said:There's only one burger and hot dog stall worth visiting - the one in Harvey Gardens run by that family that used to do it from their garden. The chippy opposite the Lib is my pre-match delectation of choice. Probably explains why I've just had my arteries spring cleaned!0

Which one in Harvey Gardens? There is one opposite the club shop, one on the stadium side underneath the big CAFC badge and one on the houses side almost opposite the entrance for the Family and East Stand.JiMMy 85 said:There's only one burger and hot dog stall worth visiting - the one in Harvey Gardens run by that family that used to do it from their garden. Personally I prefer the burgers from the van opposite the club shop, having tried all of the above.

You could always ask for a cheeseburger without the burger.seth plum said:How about the lovely diesel exhaust fumes from these outlets, brilliant? As for anything for veggies, no chance for us wierdos.

....or the 'cheese', or the bread, or the topping, or the queue, or the wait, or the cost.1

I struggle for Charlton fans as friends, a few years back I could get a group of 3 coming along to the matches BUT, only if we got a pre match and a post match burger from Harvey Gardens after, I kid you not it was all they spoke about, the game could have been 6-4 with 10 minutes to play they'd be discussing whether to go quarter or half, onions or no...1

Rollover Hot Dogs - scapegoat of the week.3

If you had to ask, then it's the one you haven't tried.iainambler said:

I bought a hot dog in the ground a few games ago - it said 'Worlds best hotdog' on the box. It wasn't, believe me. I think the club would make much more money if the food was a little better and the price a little more reasonable.0
-
the club need to think about if they are actually losing money. paying 3.50 for a cheeseburger that is so tiny probably means people just get a burger outside. a bottle of coke in the ground costs more than the two litre ones in newsagents.1

I'm more a pie man myself0

They will be selling Jaeger bombs to the East Stand Block A massive next season. 50p a shot!2

often thought this as well but as long as the contract to supply food in the stadium remains to the benefit of a thridMuttleyCAFC said:I bought a hot dog in the ground a few games ago - it said 'Worlds best hotdog' on the box. party then the marginal difference to CAFC would be minimal. I think RE has quoted the exact figures on here before but its not as simple as saying mcdonalds make 80p on a 1.20 burger so we could as well.
until u actual manufacture (or source directy from the manufacturer) and sell these products "in-house" then its rather a moot point. the only ones that would benefit directly by cheaper and better products in financial terms would be us, the customers.
of course the best food offerings in the lower leagues are done much more in house style but thats easier with lower take up in terms of crowd attendance.
exactly the same logic as the new nike shop. majority of ur pennies now go to nike not charlton so thats why i would be much more reluctant to buy CAFC merchandise from the shop than i was previously.3 -
I refuse to eat the hot food inside the stadium it is so disgusting.
The Harvey Gardens burger van is the place to go!0 -
I the mark up wasn't so shocking, the quality so dismal and the service so appalling I might buy food and drinkk inside the ground. But as things are, absolutely no chance.0

Last season I found a dreadlock in my burger. Never eaten one again.Addickforlife said:I refuse to eat the hot food inside the stadium it is so disgusting.
