The MLS is going the way of the Premier League ... a league of haves and have-nots.

The MLS is a very interesting model, I enjoy watching it develop from a far. I disagree that it's going the way of the prem, it's something totally different - the DP rule means there will always be players who are on many times more than their team mates/colleagues. The players aren't employed by their individual clubs but by the league centrally so it's not really a case of one club throwing around loads more money than another, actually there's a salary cap to try and stop that.
Their big debate at the moment is whether or not to introduce promotion/relegation, I personally think it's a good idea but I don't think the guys that have paid $50-100m for a MLS franchise will vote for it.0 -
I see Henry takes the bulk of the Red Bulls, I wonder how much Sam & Wright-Phillips are on.0

BWP on a decent wedge.0 -
Isn't there a salary cap but they can have two designated players whose wages don't contribute to the figures?0

Personally, I can't see the interest in it if there's no relegations or promotions.
Makes for interesting reading.charltonJ said:http://www.mlsplayers.org/files/April 1, 2014 Salary Information - By Club.pdf
BWP on a decent wedge.
A few quick/probably wrong/rough calculations show that:
Bradley Wright Phillips on £3,700 p/week essentially. ( $330,000 / £197,000 )
Lloyd Sam on £1,500 p/week ( $136,500 / £81,512.07)
Dom Dwyer is at £918p/week (£47,772 / $80,000)
Roben Bover is on around £417 p/week ($36,500 / £21,796)
Other interesting ones:
Defoe Jermain - $6,000,000.00 / £3,582,948 ( £68,902 p/week )
Keane Robbie - $4,500,000.00 / £2,687,211 ( £51,677 p/week )
Henry Thierry - $3,750,000.00 / £2,239,342 ( £43,064 p/week )0
