i reckon 2-2 with a late Barnsley injury time equaliser.

Like last week, it'll be tough, but we won last week, scored three goals, and by all accounts Sodall played quite well. I'm very nervous, and will be all day,but that's Charlton for you. But our recent form is'nt tooo bad, great in fact if you take out the saturdays, which have usually been against better opposition.

    We'll be fine!

    1-1

Don't think a win will make us safe. Will be a significant three points but Spanners on a run of form. We'll need more than just these three points to stay up.

Keep reading that we only need 3/4 more points, or that winning tomorrow will relegate Barnsley, but I'm not so sure.

I agree. We may only need 3/4 more points but I think there will be a few more unexpected results meaning we'll probably need a few more than that.

On the line up I'd rather see us find room for AA somewhere as well as Solly back in the side (if he's ready). I thought he was one of the better players on Saturday and taken off to save him for tomorrow.

I'd still also say Sordell is the best striker we have at holding up the ball.

Please, please tell me you meant this as a joke, he was absolutely awful on Saturday, I sincerely hope he is nowhere near the team on Tuesday.
    I'm not joking. Who's a better option?

Impressive strike, but I still think he should've squared to Sordell to volley in.

Tuesday evening. All ears tuned in to the announcing of the team sheet. Not compiled by Jose's tailor or 'Arry Rednapp's Sandra. Who will Riga select for the attacking part of our game ... blindfolded, with pin in hand, Jose finally selects the 2 up front. Gasps of relief, then applause all round 3 sides of the Valley. No Church, no Sordell, no Reza, no Harriot, no Green. Which leaves ???
    Answers please!

  • I think we will win ugly, once again, 2-0 may be 2-1.

Strangely I think we may even get a couple of draws over Easter.

This will be followed by loads of we are saved posts on CL. Far from it, we may struggle to get anything from the rest of the season. I hope and prey it doesn't come down to the last game.

Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to make this one after it was rearranged. A bigger game than Yeovil and probably the biggest of the season so far. Very nervous and don't know what to expect.

I have a horrible feeling that our inability to score goals, plus our remarkable tendency to imagine that Church will ever be a striker, will leave this one at 0-1. This will make the Bolton game 'bundle of nerves' time. I must have been very wicked in a previous life.
  • If Church starts you will find me on the concourse.

Obika, at least the ball sticks with him and he brings others into play. Sordell is even worse than Jason Euell in holding the ball up and that's saying something!

I watched Sordell closely on Saturday and only once in 90 minutes did he manage to control the ball and he got a pass off to Solly. The sooner he goes back the better!

Biggest game of the season so far.

    Addicks win 3-1.

With solly in the team it's a lot more balanced.

I'd guess Sordell is likely to start as he can't play on Friday

I think we win and we are about 90% safe and we lose and it's 50-50. It is unusual over the course of a long season for one game to have as big a swing. Massive. The positive is, if we beat them they will be cut adrift so a lot of pressure on them as well as us.

have to start well, get in their faces and attack from the off...formation depends on whether Solly plays I think, meaning that Wilson can push on to RM.

    Hamer
    Solly Dervite Morrison Wiggins
    Wilson Poyet Cousins Jackson
Obika Reza/Sordell (could be either really)

    If no Solly then

    Hamer
    Wilson Dervite Morrison Wiggins
    Poyet Cousins Jackson
    AA
    Obika Reza/Sordell (as above)

    personally I don't think he'll start....but I think we'll win by the odd goal

You can't overstate how massive a win would be tonight . It will almost make us safe because of the teams that we drag into it but we are Charlton.
We don't make things easy for ourselves.
Because of that I think tonight might be draw .
2-2 goals from Morrison and church .

This is such an important game tonight. its one of our games in hand and against our relegation rivals. A win will shoot us up table a bit and give us some breathing space between us and the bottom 3. Win whether ugly or pretty i don't care. we MUST win. Hoping, praying, crossing everything tonight. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE WIN!!!!

Looking forward to this one, I can't usually make midweek games, but will be there tonight.
MUST win, anything else will be a disappointment.
    Cant wait.

Another minute silence for Hillsborough before the game. This is all getting a bit over the top now IMO.

Grab an early goal, take off Sordell, Reza and AA, bring on Cook, Lennon and Cort, and try to hang on.

    1-3.

But if you're going on one game Obika couldn't control the ball against Yeovil while Sordell did pretty well.

Sordell also held the ball up well against Huddersfield.

Got to be one of the two for me, clearly Reza and Church aren't going to offer that. I wouldn't say either Sordell or Obika are great at holding up the ball but against Brighton most players were poor when it came to doing anything with the ball at their feet.

Polish Pete wasn't with the 21s yesterday. Any1 have any ideas if he could be involved tonight?
