Great stuff Callum - he has had a great finish to a dodgy season, hope he kicks on now.

He's the kind of player where maybe you have to tolerate him losing the ball a lot as a sacrifice for how often he manages to get round the defenders.

    Great game.

My opinion of him has totally changed. Since he has been playing down the left he has really shown what he is capable of. Still a few mistakes but one to watch next season

Wonderful tonight ! What a game to score a brace!

middle finger up to every single muppet that booed him two weeks ago....well done callum!
  • He has been amazing for us these last two or three games. Playing him on the right against Barnsley the other week was one of JR's few mistakes. I think both have learned a lot from that experience.
  • Great finishes. When confident and on the correct side he can be a very good player.

Would like some competition for him next season to keep him on his toes but certainly a worthy squad member.

Is that just the difference playing him on the left makes?

Ever since he appeared during the run in last season I thought that's one less position we need to buy in. He has obviously struggled this season for whatever reason but has finished with the same form that earned him a three year deal in 2013. I look forward to next season in the knowledge that he and the other young talents will be around.
  • Played like a Premier League footballer tonight. Impressed.

A bit simplistic, after all his first goal was though the middle. Callum like many tricky attacking players is inconsistent, and will mix brilliant moments with terrible howlers. The skill of the coach is to fit such a player into the team, to get him in dangerous positions.

Playing on the correct side and in a midfield 5 suits him and means he gets the ball further up the pitch.

One of few really pacy forwards we have.

Just like nearly every winger needs to be more consistant but showed those who wrote him off that he has the ability and the work rate. It was being played on the right that hurt him and the team.
  • Deserved his criticism and abuse against Barnsley

    Redeemed against weds

And force fed it down our throats last night

    About time too

Well done Calum but drop the messi
  • He's been brilliant the last few games.

I really hope he kicks on next season - I think he has a lot of potential.

Yep, madness to play him on the right. I remember Powell earlier in the season played him in the centre behind the strikers. He's a left winger so just play him there.

Still only 20, seems ages ago when I saw him make his debut

What lets him down sometimes is trying all those step overs when his greatest ability is to skin the oppo with his pace. This was proved perfectly last night for his first. He's obviously a confidence player as well which is why he had such a good game after that first goal.

Remember he had a great game against Sheff Weds in the FA Cup as well, playing him on the left makes all the difference.
  • Should never have been left out of the team for so long after his excellent end to last season, when he was largely responsible for almost getting us into the play offs. Riga has shown great belief and confidence in him despite his bad performance against Barnsley and was rewarded last night. We have been desperate for a player who can take defenders on and who can shoot.

He'll still never cut it until he becomes more consistent and we consistently play him on his correct side of the pitch.

To be honest Callum was always going to struggle this season. I posted something about it at the start of the season but he benefited last season from coming in to a struggling team with nothing to lose and just being able to express himself. He scored and won us the game in his first start against Huddersfield and never looked back for the last few games. With the summer break and the weight of expectation, coupled with our failure to sign any competition he struggled for form and with it his confidence went. He's had a tough one but ending on a high is really good for him and he should hopeful settle next season. Wingers are always inconsistent and he clearly suffers from confidence crises. If he can improve his decision making and impose himself more on games he will be a very good player

Riga deserves a lot of praise for showing confidence in him and Sordell (there were a few on here ridiculously stating that neither should play for the club again after the Barnsley game.), and both ended up being the difference makers in the wins that got us to safety.

Thought he had some poor moments vs Watford but was impressed by how tenacious he was. He kept at and got his just rewards, the two strikes were both quality and he's put himself down in folk law a little bit. Pleased for the lad. Hopefully he'll push on from here and become more consistent. He maybe came of age last night.
