Mourinho - 'I need a striker'

As Chelsea's season slowly draws to an anti-climatic close, Jose Mourinho has again stated that it is the deficiencies upfront that have caused such an unfulfilling season. He has been quoted as saying 'I need a striker, Eto'o is an old cojjer and Torres couldn't score in a brothel'.

A player who has been on Chelsea's radar for a while now is international striker Simon Church. It is thought that the Wales striker could be the answer to Mourinho's goal scoring problems, with searing pace and an eye for goal, as well as the capability to create something out of nothing. His 3 goals in 33 appearances for current side Charlton Athletic give him an impressive strike rate of 1 in 11 this season, and his tireless displays have seen him score twice for Wales in 25 appearances. It is expected that Chelsea will put in a bid as soon as the transfer window opens, however Charlton rate the forward highly and would not accept anything less than £30 million.

    Mourinho might also be looking for a keeper. Better lock churchy and Thurman up for the summer.

    Here's a question.

    If Church was put through on goal against an opposing keeper that was Ilium Thurman, who would come out on top?

    Would that define live comedy from Charltons training ground?

    Think you'd all be moaning a lot more if we'd shelled out 50 million Sovs for our striker and he ended up with a similar strike rate as Simon Church

    Still haven't grasped the names of the Leige lot but not really necessary at this point.
