In no order -
The Italian job (1969 one)
Reservoir Dogs
True Romance
The Shawshank Redemption
Lock Stock and Two Smocking Barrels
Very hard to restrict it down to just 5, the above would probably change if I did it again tomorrow.

I'm finding this really hard to do as I keep changing my mind every time someone else posts their top 5
1) Planes Trains
2) Toy Story
3) Back to the future
4) Star Wars
5) Shawshank Redemption
That's in no particular order, some have dated better than others, some remind me of times in my life as well as originality, I could have put Grease, The Godfather,Private Ryan or the bucket list in their quite as easily.0 -
Is it too late to swap ET for Jaws?
No, hang on......................0 -

1. The Godfather
2. Shawshank Redemption
3. Zulu
4. Life of Brian
5. The Deer Hunter
As others have said, five is not enough and would add in a top 10.
Godfather 2
Green Mile
12 Angry Men
The Graduate
Blazing Saddles0 -
Walking past Tonbridge School yesterday reminded me that David Sherwin's brutal experiences there inspired him to write the screenplay for 'If...', directed by Lindsay Anderson and released in 1968. I've already nominated my Top Five, but 'If...' is certainly bubbling under.1

I see some great films mentioned but here's five to add that don't appear as I skimmed through:
American Beauty
Kill Bill 1 & 2
Manhatten
Brazil
Edit 12 monkeys on the bench!0
