The last time we played Orient in the Championship (old 2nd division) was 12th March 1982 - won 5-2 but who scored the goals?
We got a 1-1 draw at Orient earlier that season. They finished bottom and haven't been back since.

As said on the Pitch Invasion thread, went this evening. Nice to go to a good old-fashioned ding-dong-do as a neutral, although of course we wanted it for the Os, their three old Addicks (one of them very old) and for them to have the chance to win at Wembley. If Derby do the business the Champ will have as many London teams as RD has got in his entire Empire. The match was played throughout at an unbelievable tempo. A really good night.

I remember Gritty smashing one in. Probably the 5th. Think it was a Friday night game.

Anyway forget the football for a second. How come they are sponsored by Samsung and the best we can do is the air con shop down Peninsular Park Rd?

I want us to be sponsored by PlayBoy.....

South London will really be full of tits and fanny....lol

the valley would be a tractor beam for it...AV IT...

I remember Orient (they dropped the Leyton for a while) 1-2 Charlton 19 Feb 66. A beefy winner from Ron Saunders on a heavy pitch after a lot of rain. I'm sure I've been there since, can't for the life of me think when though.

Can still hear Gritty shouting "leave it" before smashing the ball into the roof of the net. Don't ask me who scored the other goals though!

Before this in the 60's and 70's apart from a couple of blips and one season in the top flight when they were promoted with Bill Shankley's Liverpool , Orient were a regular 2nd tier side. You wouldn't have thought it would take them 32 years to get back.

In terms of our goals didn't Leighton Phillips get the first , which I remember was an equaliser ? I also think Billy Landsdowne got a brace. Haven't a clue about the scorer of the other goal though.

My family were all East End, and Brisbane Rd was the 2nd ground after The Valley I went to. Always had a soft spot for the O's

I loved it when the Peterborough fans sang to Orient "top of the league and you f***ed it up!" then the Orient fans sang back "championship and you f***ed it up!"
