I'm gonna try and do the same but it's so much easier for women to do. Hee hee!

No thanks - if he's willing to jump ship after a year he wouldn't last 5 minutes at The ValleyThe Red Robin said:Oscar Garcia could be available - http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/may/11/brighton-oscar-garcia-resignation-defeat

Not sure if the Curbs / Dowie example is such a great (or reassuring) one to use !I-SAW-POUSO-PLAY said:Just remember, Curbs said he was leaving end of April, we didn't appoint Dowie until the end of May.
These things take time.1 -
It is true that if the manager doesn't pick the targets, it is not such a problem not having one. We have to hope that we have one in place sooner rather than later though as out of contract players may want to know who will be in charge before they commit. We also have to hop that RD doesn’t forget to appoint one, with all the other clubs he has to focus on!0

Behind every good man is a good woman, Katrien (reference point @oohaahmortimer ) will have this covered :-0MuttleyCAFC said:It is true that if the manager doesn't pick the targets, it is not such a problem not having one. Concerning JR - in the light of today's Sack of the Day featuring Pepe Mel, the guy was appointed to work alongside residual staff (including a certain Dean Kiely) and in his case clearly it can't have been considered a success. All the more credit to our own four heroes, therefore, for combining to make such a good go of things, to Roland for his sound judgment in bringing them together, and certainly to SCP who it is assumed gave the new set-up his blessing and his encouragement.0 -

Yes, she probably keeps going on about it until it gets done! Roland, don’t forget you have to get a new manager for Charlton, Roland don’t forget……You haven’t forgotten have you? He’ll do it to escape the nagging about it.RedChaser said:

Why assume that? CP seems to have been going on the radio taking credit for keeping us up - it was my team -, does not sound like he was backing the new regime and who would expect him to. Dyer and Mathews are professionals they would not be looking to CP to approve them trying to avoid relegation for the club that pays them.GlassHalfFull said:

Dyer and Matthew are both good friends of Powells... I doubt either of them would have stayed in without Powells blessing or at least okay... having said hat Powell being a Powell sort of guy would never say no to them!Kap10 said:

Where will Riga go if he doesn't take the Charlton job? I thought his post with Milan was temporary and in any case probably ceased when he came to Charlton. SL don't need a new manager. It would be a terrible shame if he ended up at some obscure Spanish team with little pedigree!2

You are right without Powells blessing they would have made themselves unemployed.0 -
Still all quiet at #cafc. Jose Riga met owner Roland Duchatelet last week. No update since then about what is happening.
— Richard Cawley (@RichCawleySLP) May 13, 2014Was told this week that decision over head coach might not be until after the Belgian Jupiler League finishes this weekend. #cafc

According to a Stephen Reid interview on TalkSport, Mel's job was almost impossible given that he barely spoke English and wasn't given an interpreter for 6 weeks! Shambles.GlassHalfFull said:

Why wait for the Belgian league to finish? Maybe Riga impressed RD so much that if SL cock it up, he will put him in charge of them. They are the priority - we have to accept that!2

A poster on ITTV is saying that Guy Luzon is going to be appointed as Charlton Head Coach after the Belgian season ends this coming weekend.

Still I suppose it is possible he could be redeployed within the network :-00 -
Such a lazy rumour. He has just signed a new deal (yes RD does offer new deals?!) I do think we'll see him here at some point though.ShootersHillGuru said:A poster on ITTV is saying that Guy Luzon is going to be appointed as Charlton Head Coach after the Belgian season ends this coming weekend.

My thoughts actually although as it seems that Leige have ballsed up the playoffs could it be that RD thinks Riga would be better there and move Luzon to us ? Just a thought. The Red Robin said:

Liege play on Thursday and Sunday and then the season is over and they are two points behind the leaders now
1 Anderlecht 8 +8 45
2 Club Brugge 8 +4 45
3 Standard Liège 8 +0 43
If Guy Luzon takes over I hope he is successful but I worry about just relying on a network of coaches and players.

Seems qualified enough let's wait and see0

Bit off topic, but I much prefer SL's website to ours... Much easier to use/ smarter. Shame we're under contract with the FL for another few yearsRedChaser said:
