I will watch the cup final today but the hurt won't go away.
We had a golden opportunity to be there today.
I think it will be a long time before the draw gods look so kindly upon us again.
Beating the Blades would have seen us back at Wembley, and with a bit of luck we could have beaten Hull.
But as usual we were kicked in the teeth.
Gutted of SE14.

Yeah but, yeah but, if we had got to the final we may well have missed out on Europe if Standard de Liege play in the Europa league (which is quite likely) so losing to Sheffield United I think everybody will agree was a good thing ;-), dodged a bullet there obviously.

What annoys me the most is the 2006/7 season, our last in the premiership. Three crucial refereeing decisions cost us relegation.

1. Watford (H) 0-0 - Denied a clear penalty in the later stages, no way Watford were scoring that day. +2pts
2. Fulham (H) 2-2 - That ridiculous last minite goal by fulham from a free kick 10yrds ahead. +2pts
3. Everton (A) 1-2 - We had a goal given offside in the 80th? or so minute. +1pt

39 points would've kept us up. Whether we'd have stayed up the following season I don't know, but we would've had a hell of alot more money from parachute payments if we had gone down the following season.

On an unrelated note, 1/2 the teams from that season are not in the prem anymore! Couldn't believe it when I noticed it!

Look on the bright side AC, those three decisions have given you a healthy sense of injustice that you can wear forever. We were struggling by that stage anyway as a result of poor management decisions, if it hadn't been 2007, it would probably have been 2008 and if there'd been no dodgy decisions you'd have had nothing to cling on to all these years ;-)
