Peeters & Millwall connection

Im sorry if you guys feel this does not deserve its own thread but i feel it does...

I have seen : " I cannot not believe we are getting a ex Millwall player as our head coach" " ex scum I'm not interested" "what is Roland playing at appointing a ex Millwall player !? "- to name a handful of 100s of comments i have seen

Im sorry but that is truly embarrassing and childish - I quite frankly could give a rats ass that he is ex Millwall , ( also bare in mind he wasn't exactly a hero over there).

sometimes im not amazed but some of our stupid comments on here and silly re actions but this really did surprise me.. why does it matter? Powell was ex palace but yet we had such strong support for him?
shouldn't matter whether its Powell or peeters , Our reaction was very Millwall like, something silly ,stupid and childish.

I really liked Riga and wanted him to stay but this appears to be Roland's man and he seems desperate to have him , could this all go very wrong ? Yes .. but could this work out fantastic? Yes it can
At the moment Roland hasn't really got it wrong with managerial changes in his other clubs .. granted yes they are different leagues etc. but his strategy works - why would he change that?

Give this guy a chance.. He has not even held 1 session and already he is not liked cause of his playing career past , grow up, man up and get behind OUR new manger

We are in for a roller-coaster ride this summer & season and I'm sure i want to be a passenger

I think if it was someone like Neil Harris that we were potentially employing then I'd tend to agree with the comments mentioned

Seeing Bob Peeters really played no more games for them than say Gonzalo Sorondo did for us I'm not bothered

I hate this childish nonsense ,the Spanners basically killed any chance of Lomas being successful last season by their behaviour. Remember Harry Cripps an Icon at Millwall was a key member of our 1974/75 promotion winning squad and then became Assistant Manager. Harry is unfortunately dead now but I have never heard any negativity about him in Charlton circles.

Why is it so tribal now?

4 international goals incl a hatrick. Sounds impressive till you delve closer and spot 3 were against San Marino and the other was against Latvia.

Don't care that he used to play for Millwall, im more concerned that we've let two good managers slip in the space of 2 and a half months.

I posted this or similar on another thread. Three of our Charlton legends are very closely associated with Millwall.

    Jimmy Seed
    Johnny Summers
    Steve Gritt.

There are others not so prominent also that made great contributions to Charlton.
    It actually irritates me enormously.

Not at all bothered whether he played for Millwall I couldn't care less, I'm more concerned that he is either going to be a Roland puppet and do badly or go against him and do well and get sacked. I'm lost for words.

Or could he just be being appointed because Roland thinks he's a good coach. Isn't a puppet and is what we need. I don't believe a businessman as successful as RD doesn't admire and encourage talent and strong characters in senior management roles.

I, for one, was not being serious. I don't care where a manager/player comes from, as long as they give 100%.

I forgot how happy you all were when Dowie was appointed :)

Couldn't care less who he played for. We all make embarrassing mistakes sometimes. I'd have been perfectly happy to have had Teddy Sheringham come play for us and he's much more Millwall than Peeters.

No idea whether this fella is going to be good bad or otherwise for Charlton , but Chris Powell seemed quite popular at Charlton , i can't remember what club he started out with....

If anything it will motivate him more to beat them.

I hate Millwall and pretty much everything to do with them, if you don't then you probably just won't get it.

Don't let it get you down
