Who thinks he can definitely do a job?

Roland. What do I win?11

I think he can do a job. He seems to know what he wants from the players and what sort of formation he likes to play. If he can convey his thinking on to the players then I am looking forward to a more attacking and expansive system
Welcome Mr Bobby. Glad to have you on board3 -
Name your pick0

Who knows, lets hope he can and he has the tools to do so.2
-
Hopefully we can start making some appropriate signings.1
-
Just hope he gets off at the right train station, first

Seems to have his own ideas, is meant to be good when he coaches young players and gets the best out them so so far so good.
The real test will be his recruitment (as much as that is in his hands) and how his teams perform. Wish him all the best.

I like what I've heard so far.
Hopefully he can hit the ground running and be successful.
(Mid table is successful in my eyes)1 -
I'm concerned about the mindset of the players, some of whom seemed to really find their feet under Riga and were finally enjoying their football. Now they will have to start over again with a new manager. I hope players like Harriot don't loose confidence.1

The second part of the interview answers many questions i had, it is now more about the players he brings in or is given to work with.
If backed well, then yes, i think he will be a decent Head Coach for us.0 -

Has performed well on gardening leave in Belgium, bought wisely in the local garden centre and looks comfortable near a compost heap. His weeding leaves something to be desired but if he get his hardy perennials to avoid the early frost I think we are looking at a good season.7 -
he likes the term 'young guns'1

It's very hard to tell off the back of those two interviews. I am positive he's forward thinking and will really jump at this opportunity, so hopefully that will rub off on those players who are undecided about staying. At the moment there is very little coming from the club about contracts etc, we just have to wait. For me I am pleased we've got him in early.
I know we're going to use more and more youth players, just hopes he gets the chance to get 2/3 experienced pros outside the network.0 -
Not put a foot wrong yet. Seriously though. I like what he said in the interviews and am looking forward to seeing the squad come together.0
-
Once I've heard him speak I'll do an impression. He has got a few accents up his sleeve though so it could be a tricky one.1

It's been reported that he plays long ball style of football
Can't wait to see use try that for a change0 -
Have you read his interview ?Gumbo said:It's been reported that he plays long ball style of football

For an ex-Millwall, puppet stooge he's alright is our Bobby.
(this is tongue-in-cheek, I'm not one to cast aspersions on someone I've not had the chance to get to know first. Unlike some.)0 -
A case of wait & see, for me.
But hoping for the best.0 -

First impressions - he hasn't had enough time to make any!
I'm with Fanny on the wait-and-see approach. We need to judge him on his merits (or otherwise) and nothing else - to do otherwise would be completely unreasonable and unfair.0 -

I think he'll be fine as long as they bed him in, few shifts outside Bartrams with low custom kind of thing.
Fling him in on the big ones like Millennium lounge Saturday night, 11pm England World Cup KO time with free beer with an ENG defeat and he could come unstuck.
But in terms of stature he certainly looks the part1 -

Must admit I did post my comment b4 reading his interview, but I have been told by a couple of different people that he does play long ball a lotSwisdom said:

I'd trust what he said rather than what a mischief making journalist comes up with
Have to wait and see I guess

Peeters is a young modern Belgian coach. Hoofball will not be seen at The Valley under Peeters.0
-
Will reserve my judgement on him until I see which players he is allowed to sign1
-
As others have said, it's a case of wait and see.1
-
An evil genius often needs a big lump behind him to strong arm the competition. If a huge delivery of cat litter turns up outside the Valley then expect a big white fluffy pussy to take up residence too...0

Well informed opinion.Gumbo said:ShootersHillGuru said:

However it will be interesting because the reality of playing passing football as opposed to Hoofball will be factored by the players he buys!
So spend RDs cash wisely Bob!

It would be bonkers to write this fella off before a ball is kicked, I hope he is a positive yet realistic coach, who can get the Charlton mojo going again, on the pitch, and off it.
I'm prepared to give any new boss a chance, but I do need to be won over.0
