If football didn't exist

What would be your weekend?

What would you do on a Saturday?

A) I would take 2nd best and be a Rugby fan, I need competitive sport in my life.

B) it would save me a load of cash and misery. Following Charlton is like a disease I can't seem to shake off unless its taken away from me.

C) it's either football or nothing. I would be as miserable as I am in pre-season not knowing what to so with myself, And huh! without a World Cup to look forward to fill the gap! This is another universe called "hell".

D) I would become a Gardner...my secret passion in life of growing plants in an allotment can actually be lived on a free Saturday.

E) It wouldn't effect me, as, if I don't know about football in the 1st place then I obviously don't need to adapt to life without it. I would have an alternate passion in life I guess, maybe boxing, cricket...something else, an alternate main interest hobbie.

F) Not bothered at all I don't even like football...infact the only reason I have a CL account is for "who's rack". I'm very particular with the source of light pornographic images.

G) it's not a void that would need to be filled, life's to short and precious to have footy play a big part in it.

H)my parents conceived me on the back of a Charlton home win, so I wouldn't exist.

J) suicide.

    As Voltaire nearly said

"If football did not exist it would be necessary to invent it"
  • I guess I would have my usual pint on the way to SE7, sit in a seat for 90 minutes at The Valley staring into space, get a sausage roll midway through, walk back to my car thinking that I could have done better and let my wander back to the days i sat at the valley and dreamed of any imaginary person called Killer being a god.

  • If football ceased to exist the world would go to to shit. Men all over the globe would suddenly feel a sense of boredom and dissatisfaction in their lives, and from there they would begin to question how free we really are in our lives. There would be global uprisings and governments would fall from England to Guatemala. Poor organisation would lead to increased inequality and starvation, and the real life Hunger Games would take place.

I would probably shout and sing offensive and provocative songs at innocent people in the street instead of referees and footballers and get arrested or sectioned.

Sorry, I wasn't talking about Brighton. Someone's already got that covered I believe?

    K) Go completely insane. With a life full of so much drama and people needing me from all angles, football is escapism, the only time I get to feel like me, the me I was before I was a wife or a mother and before the world became serious and scary. No football means no Charlton, no Charlton means no escapism, no escapism = insane asylum.
