No surprises there. Both grounds are a dump. Surprised Millwall was even considered a football staduim and not a land fill site.

Not surprised about Gills. Standing on that thing they call an away end isn't too pleasant

When was the taken up then, cos when we played palace they still had some, assuming they was replaced after promotion then

They did indeed. The replaced them in the summer.

They got tired of them being ripped out every time we went there. ;o)

I really don't see how visits to clubs such as Wigan should be rated so highly. Visits to stadiums that are straight off the motorway in new retail/industrial parks are fairly soulless and dull experiences unless we win of course.

Because people are so fixated with everything "now" and new being better, possibly?

Err the reason it's enjoyable to vist is because if you are the away team you've won and gone away with and easy 3 points

Seemingly a lot of people get boners having to walk miles from the station and not being able to buy a beer.

No Surprise QPR was so low other then the shambles at Millwall, QPR was probably my worst experience of the season

Plus of course the jovial Charlton tradition of "Have three points old fella" must of helped...

The least atmospheric ground I've ever been too. The most cramped ground I've ever been too. God knows how a stadium can win both those accolades
  • Sadly, looking at that table, as a preference fans prefer news grounds to the old classic stadiums.
  • Palace saying that away fans don't like their visits to Selhurst because the atmosphere is so intimidating.............

That's what you get when you've modelled it on a Subuteo stadium :-0

    Football fans are funny folk!

I get Cardiff. Like Brighton, they've done a lot to make it a great day out for away fans. Last time we were in Swansea though, we were treated appallingly by the police and "trained" out after the game, with old bill on every station on the way out of Wales and strict orders for the train staff to keep it dry for us...despite the Swansea lads supping cans at the bar and apologising as this is what the police did to all away fans!!

Wigan?? Really?? Awful place for football. Liked the town, but a soulless stadium with an apathetic crowd the last time I was there. Don't get Reading or Blackburn either. MK Dons...seriously...not even worth talking about. Surprised the scousers are so low, especially Everton. Always enjoyed our trips up there.

I get how we're lower reaches. If fans get off at Charlton, there's not many options unless you really know the area and I have often heard that facilities in the away end are not great.

    Was anyone here actually surveyed??

Only 5k surveyed. Completely meaningless. And was based on things like comfort etc so no wonder the new grounds scored highest.

Ask a bunch of normal lads from each club and you'd get a much more sensible result.

    Don't understand those results.
Cardiff - nothing special, a standard bowl, unexceptional location (not scenic or even that near to the station), standard catering inside
Wigan, Reading, Blackburn? How are Wigan and Reading so much better than say Bolton, as all are in fairly new stadia, and Reading has terrible access unlike Bolton which at least has a station nearby.
And how were Sheffield United 11th in L1?

I presume we got marked down by disgruntled Doncaster and Barnsley fans :-)

Totally meaningless - the sample size is way too small. On average that would be about two supporters surveyed for each game.

Exactly. Give me a little town with decent pubs, an old school terrace and a win and I'm happy. Would choose that all day long over trips to Wigan, Cardiff, Swansea, etc.
