sorry team, it was a slow weekend finishing digitalizing my music collection in prep for move...0

I think all my old favourites are still available. Was gutted when they stopped selling Wispas but they brought them back (top tip - stick em in the freezer for a bit before you eat them). They are, of course, not all so readily available out here in Canada and you have to hunt out the UK imported dairy milk, not the stuff made in Toronto which somehow doesn't taste the same. They say it's the same recipe and the difference basically comes down to what the dairy cows eat in Ontario vs the UK.
On a slight tangent, someone I work with was given a Yorkie bar by a friend who visited the UK which meant I got to send her this advert which is an old favourite...

thx for tip, just spent some magic moments with the yorkie ads on you tube, tho recall the actual bar was too tough for my tender gnashers - big girlie;>)))0

That'd be me, Abs !Absurdistan said:By the way who prefers Galaxy to Cadbury's?
NEVER thought anything would beat good old Cadbury but IMHO, Galaxy is so much creamier and not as sweet.
My ideal evening is a good film on the Box, Mr F by my side and a lovely Ripple to suck on ...

reluctantly agree re galaxy choc quality, tho flake vs ripple is a very close thing, indeed should we compare as they are both absolute legends!0

a Finger of Fudge is just enough... God, they'd never get away with that now3

Well they were still making chocolate in Bourneville when I visited Cadbury World in April and all the stuff we buy here says imported from Birmingham, England on it.Absurdistan said:

still giggling at that one, we were sooo seemingly innocent then, and what a lush, simple delight of a cheap bar, the "fudge"!0

Mine was the Cabana, a lovely bar but it was small in comparison to the Mars bar back in the day!

a compact classic: breakaway, tasty/gritty biscuit, just enough/quality chocolate, i first recall in a yellow wrapper? this one always delivered!0
-
...which brings to mind another left field favorite, golf. assorted range of interesting flavors, too much chocolate and strange taste imo tho, & biscuit felt like they were jacobs rejects from their main bikkie range...0

Still get them in most supermarketsshootershill2tropics said:a compact classic: breakaway, tasty/gritty biscuit, just enough/quality chocolate, i first recall in a yellow wrapper? this one always delivered!

Breakaways make me feel sad, they're what I used to get in my school lunch box when I could only dream about everyone else's Mars or Marathon. Sadly nobody ever wanted my breakaway0
-
Still it was better than the Blue Riband bunch at least0
-
If your on to biscuits, can't beat a Tunnock's Tea Cake.1
-
blue riband, did not live up to it's high browed name at all, no...hmmm tunnocks teacakes, but what did that name have to do with chocolate covered marshmallow on a biscuity base? ahhh, bless that breakaway schooldays tale, but i feel you won out with that little belter of biscuit/bar!0
-
Yeh, but Breakaway featured in a Python sketch, so it was well cool!Fumbluff said:Breakaways make me feel sad, they're what I used to get in my school lunch box when I could only dream about everyone else's Mars or Marathon. Sadly nobody ever wanted my breakaway

oh dear, yes, i called club, golf by mistake...it was good but their chocolate & biscuit, tho a useful combo, were not up to cadburys/frys/rowntrees quality - it was made by a cracker company after all, right? though of u.s. origin(?), i have to say for biscuit/chocolate/caramel combo and quality, twix is pretty hard to beat - plus you get 2!0
