    Interesting debate could be had here. What is the cover?

    Technically although Jodi wrote the song her version could be regarded as a cover because Judy Collins commercially performed / released it first.

    There are plenty of other examples of artists 'covering' their own songs .

    Just a few .

    Leo Sayer wrote and had a major hit with One Man Band , but it originally appeared on Roger Daltrey's first solo album .

    Cat Stevens was the author of the First Cut Is The Deepest although PP Arnold recorded it before him.

    I notice some people have put Patti Smith's Because The Night as a favourite cover of Springsteen. Patti actually was recording in the studio next to Bruce and rewrote some of the lyrics to the song, thereby releasing it first . Although he often performed his own different lyrics at concerts the boss's version was not released for many years.

    Sadly, Rory passsed away in 95. He had a liver transplant and died of an infection while in hospital.
    He was 47, and Having met the man I know he would be playing today, even in a bar with 2 people watching.
    He alway's had time for his fan's, and was intent...... some would say obsessed, with playing his way, on his terms.
    Her cared not a jot about fame/money, except that he could invest it in making his music, You never got short changed with a Rory concert, as a promoter once quipped
    'Some artists you have difficulty getting on stage, with Rory he never wanted to leave it'.
