and i'm not going to mention Lisbie as that was clearly a rarity !!

Been trying to think of individuals we've come against so far, or seen from the games on the telly, who look real standout players at this level and ready to make the next step up.

Have found it incredibly difficult to try and name individuals and say they are clear stand out candidated.

In midfield, Buzsaky at QPR, and West Brom's Brunt has really impressed me from what i have seen, while up front Marlon King at Watford, Ricardo Fuller at Stoke and Ishmael Miller at WBA look more a premiership strikers than championship ones.

All three are strong and powerful, with Fuller also have good skill, but terms of being cuter, i don't think there is a more clever one than Counago at Ipswich, cracking little player.

No real defenders or goalkeepers stand out for me so far.

Any views ?

I like that Danny Haynes from Ipswich,

Quality player in my eyes, wouldnt bet against him being a premiership player before too long (i dont mean Ipswich being Promoted)

I thought Andy Gray of Burnley had a good game against us. Held the ball up well and from what I remember, won a fair few headers.

Although not an unknown given his prem pedigree, Jonathan Greening is so effective in midfield and really stood out for me, is probably at his peak.

Pele for WBA looked a class defender.

Both West Brom's wide men Brunt and Gera were a class above anything we'll come up against in this division.

Barnsley had a midfielder (can't remember his name) who looked pretty lively, still think they are possibly the best side we've played at home this season.

Vine impressed me for QPR (I know he's a Birmingham player).

Yeates (?spelling) for Colchester along with SuperKev of course although our ineptitude may have made them look good. Same applies to Vine thinking about it.
  • Brunt (WBA)
    Gera (WBA)
    Muller (Barnsley Keeper)
Howard (Barnsley) ((Even better if he lost a few stone))
    Shittu (Watford)

Greening for me too has been outstanding, and think Deano is by far the best keeper we've seen down here! Lisbie was great at home and away.

Will be interesting to see the PFA Team of the year for this division. How many Charlton players will feature?

Koren of West Brom was impressive in the league match. Although he dived around, everything seemed to go through him in midfield.

Kightly at Wolves looked very good as well.

Brian Howard at Barnsley - immaculate at the Valley really impressed me

Cahill at Sheff Utd albeit on loan from Villa but still solid central defender.

I always love your analysis Ollie. I'd compare Marlon King to Giggs. ;-)

    for me:

Gera WBA. great crosser of the ball. Just think what big Chris could do ith his service.
Hoolihan Blackpool gave their midfield a great buzz.
  • enough to get a 4.5 mil bid?

surely that's more than any single player we have got on our books now would go for
