Well, I guess that explains how our player recruitment is done these days: need, need need...

So 5th post is a not-so-sly dig but let's see what the club's official grim reaper has to say.
  • I think its a really good idea. I'll be collecting.....on behalf of my sons of course.
  • Much better idea than cheerleaders!

Ha, where would we be without your vigilance. Shaw Taylor would be proud.

Last season Arsenal did 8 stickers per programme for a total of 184. How they spread them between current / historic can be seen here and makes an interesting breakdown

Sorry to disappoint you @PL54 but I think its a great idea :-)
  • It is a great idea. Who will be the first to moan about it on here on Saturday evening though??

  • I have mixed feelings on sticker albums ever since I failed to complete my Pannini 86 or 87 version. I only had one sticker left to get (Brian McClair when he was playing for Celtic. One of those double pic ones with another player). I had finally got the sticker after trying for ages (as an 8 year old it felt like ages) only to leave it in a pair of jeans which my mum then washed. The album remained incomplete.

Perhaps completing the Charlton one may finally give me some closure.
  • Love it

But those childish adults who wear football shirts...

didn't say I was going to collect them.

But will make sure the museum has a set.

Sometimes you just have to hold you hands up mate... ;-)
  • great idea, not bought a programme for years - but will now buy one so that the kids can collect the set

  • According to twitter it was Iain Liddle's idea so well done the big man.
  • Great idea...

Obviously, an encouragement to get youngsters through the turnstiles.

    The next generation of Addicks.

How will those of us who can't make every game be able to collect? Programme subscription or something? Asking for my son's benefit, obviously.
  • Anyone know who I can contact at the club for us overseas, my son would love this but obviously can't get to games. Cheers

Relieved to read this thread, as I was very excited when I saw the link, but was expecting two pages of 'embarrassing'.

My daughter has always been a massive fan of sticker books......especially the football ones :-)
  • The new royal baby will be a massive sticker book fan too.

I'd better collect them on his/her behalf.

I'm quick to criticize bad ideas. So it's only fair I say. I think this is a great idea.
  • Bloody terrible idea, going to cost me money my Grandson tells me:-)

    Posted: Wed 10 Sep 2014

Supporters will still be able to complete the first ever Charlton Athletic Sticker Album whether or not they are able to get to matches at The Valley this season
    Jimmy Stone reports

Supporters will still be able to complete the first ever Charlton Athletic Sticker Album whether or not they are able to get to matches at The Valley this season.

Throughout 2014/15 every issue of the club’s official matchday magazine Valley Review will include four numbered stickers which will find their homes within the pages of the book.

Supporters who would like to guarantee their copy of Valley Review for the rest of the season can take out a seasonal programme subscription and have each issue sent directly to their door.

Fans interested in taking out a subscription should email valley.review@cafc.co.uk or call The Valley on 0208-333 4000 for more information.

Alternatively, each edition of Valley Review and The Sticker Album will be available to buy from the online ticket office at www.shop.cafc.co.uk.

On completion, the album will include 84 stickers across eight sections including the current first team, club legends, honours and academy graduates plus much, much more.

The new-look 68-page Valley Review is available outside and inside the stadium, from the Valley Superstore and at the Valley Ticket Office for just £3.
