RIP, such tragic news.
Thought I'd create a separate thread for these goal clips.
Any particular memories of them?
The chip at Southend is my favourite.

Nice montage there POS2

Those goals show what a player he was-a proper striker who was as comfortable in the six yard box as he was from 30 yards.
Really remember that Luton goal that Robson set up as we were down to 10 men for most of the game.

94/95 season David was unstoppable at times. Twenty goals (no pens) and plenty of goal of the season contenders amongst them. A wonderful talent. RIP David1

Remember his goal v Liverpool at home of carling cup lobbing David James well, would like to see that again one of my favourite childhood memories.4

I don't want to appear to be taking anything away from David whyte as he was the first goal scorer I've witnessed at the valley but Mark Robson is involved in a large number of those goals.1

Thank you for sharing those. Very special moments from my early years as a Charlton fan.0

RIP David. Thanks for the memories.
This. David was part of an era when I had a season ticket and no responsibilities. He was one of the reasons I'd keep making the trip to London from York every other week. He was David Whyte Whyte Whyte.

Brilliant. Didn't he score 2 goals in a couple of mins at the end of a match v Bristol City to win 2-1?1

Cracking stuff. I was at an age where all I did back then was eat, sleep and breath football, so this has really saddened me. There are games in the mid 2000s that I can't remember for the life of me that I went to, yet I can remember vividly all those games as an adolescent around this time. It's bizarre. Be great if anyone can add to this, I know the Watford one (my favourite) is on the other thread.
PS - what about that green and purple Bristol City away kit???? Just as bad as our green and purple third top around 971 -
Some more of David Whyte`s goals here. Sorry, you will have to pick through or just watch the whole lot.

God bless you all darren your brother brought so much joy to us all2

Quite hard to follow that comment..
David had a fantastic ability to be in the right place at the right time and deliver with devastating accuracy.
His memory will live on for those of us he gave immense pleasure to watching him perform for our club and we will be holding a minutes silence tonight for him at the Trust AGM.
@Darren_whyte our thoughts are with you and yours at this tragic time (I have inboxed you on here by the way).
RIP David Whyte - Charlton Legend
David Whyte, Whyte Whyte2 -
Darren - as others have said your brother was a proper hero and a joy to watch in a period with little such joy.. and seemed a sound bloke as well. Thoughts are with you and your family.0
