I cooked maccaroni cheese last night from scratch, however it turned out rather bland despite salt and pepper, can any budding Olivers out there offer me some tips? mustard perhaps? I did use mature cheddar.

    plenty of cheese in there.
  • You can use mustard - 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of English mustard. Powdered is probably best!
  • Wholegrain Mustard has to be in maccoroni cheese.

must use a little mustard powder -and nutmeg is good too

Also try using Gruyere instead of Cheddar - and make sure it is brown and chewy on top.
