Ask him is it true that he got his nickname 'The Rash' not from his ability to tight mark opponents, but from an end of season tour to Magaluf ?

Has he ever made a PPI claim and if so, did he complete the form process himself or did he use a reputable claim management company for a small commission fee ?

Longest in the shower at Sparrows Lane?
  • Could he have got a cap for a minor home nations country, seeing as (and he was in his later years with us) he was one of the best CBs of his generation.
    ?
  • Probably the best centre half to play for us in my time, after Reverend Richard Rufus. In many ways he was better than Rufus who always had that blistering pace and strength to get him out of trouble (at least pre-injuries) whereas Perry was such an immaculate defender tactically - a fantastic marker and great reader of the game with superb positional sense. He was a centre back equivalent of Chris Solly - other teams looked to target him every week, but he was too good for that and would deal with everything so effortlessly that they usually give up on the ploy by halftime. Costa was maybe better to but he didn't stick around as long.

What was his favourite personal performance in a Charlton shirt?

Chris was superb for us during a difficult period in our history. In my opinion he was certainly one of the best centre backs that ever played for us (I've been watching since 1966.) Despite being only 5 foot 3 (sorry make that five foot nine) Chris competed so well against much taller and stronger opponents. Chris read the game so well and his reactions were superb. He continually surprised when he managed to clear the ball or intercept a pass by quick thinking and jutting his leg forward before the opposing centre forward had time to react. An extremely talented footballer who should never have been released. Thanks Chris - it was a pleasure watching you in a Charlton shirt.

    Kishishev - good or crap?
  • Very underated player shouldnt have let him go

Sadly the time to release him had come. He was no longer a Premiership quality player.

Best game he had was when he marked Peter Crouch out the game, still not sure how he did that.

Is he ok with the fact that out of all the photos Pete could have chosen, he chose one that makes him look like he struggles to walk and breath at the same time?

    Quality player.

Think ID should have given him another 2 year deal. Would have been invaluable that season and could have been good for us in our first season down in the Championship.

    That doesn't make sense

What was Chris Perry's favourite Charlton game he played in? In terms of atmosphere from the fans...

He's still better than Sorondo and Bougherra were in 06/07.

I feel likewise Exiled, Chris Perry was head and shoulders better than his replacements.

Yes it does, we were told his legs had gone and then he went on to play a load of games for Southampton.

Great player definitely released too early. Great song too which coincided nicely with Konchesky going on loan to Spurs and getting some clatter from Charlton fans at the time.
  • If he had to choose someone to play on the Right of Midfield who would he pick... Scott Wagstaff or Danny Green?

When he returned to us with Soton, he had an excellent Lita in his pocket. His performance made a mockery of our center halves that season. Letting him go, along with Thomas Mhyre, was a massive mistake. Why spend money on areas where you're competent? The midfield was a mess and we got Amdy Faye.

Diawara desperately needed an organiser next to him. Not sure HH, El Kak, Faye, Hughes, ZZ, Ambrose, and Thomas couldn't organise to turn up at a party.

I'd ask him what he thought about the squad when we left. The youth players seemed unready. What were they like in training? And what did he think of Amdy Faye?

Would be interested to know if Chris has had a chance to see the boy Gomez at all and if so what he makes of Joe's potential?
