The 'token' last minute Morgan Fox substitutions?
Not having a dig at him by the way, but I'm just trying to understand exactly what the logic is. He's not a solid defender yet as he is still developing, and he isn't a player who is going to naturally do a lot going forward if we are looking to get three points. There doesn't seem to be an obvious explanation for it.
Have seen it happen 4-5 times this season I think so am curious to know if there is another reason behind it, maybe Bob/the club being incentivised to use more youth products per match or something.
Any ideas?

Making sure he has the minimum number of appearances under his belt to collect his Championship winners medal at the end of the season.25

Another let's slag off Bob Peeters' subs thread : - )
Seriously, I think you are doing Morgan a disservice. He is a decent left sided defender and he's done well when I've seen him play either at LB or LM but less so in CM as against Brum.
He brings fresh legs late on and uses a little time with the sub as well slowing the game down and giving the players a breather with the stoppage.4 -
I think that it is simply to waste a bit of time which all Clubs do now depending upon the score. Also getting him bedded in as a member of the first team squad. I am enjoying the emergence of the youngsters with Terrell Thomas the latest to appear on the scene, all part of the plan for the future.1

gets experience of a match situation, feels part of the team and isn't a bad left back at all. Hopefully gets him chomping at the bit. Remember this is exactly what Parky did with Scott Wagstaff which turned him from having no confidence at all to being a good league one professional that could be dangerous late on with an eye for goal.1

Thought it was a strange decision to bring him on for Cousins on Saturday when we were at home, 1-1. Harriott may have been a better option.1
-
Does this also have the potential to add to a players value when another team looks at his stats/appearances/experience? Not saying that's why he was bought on btw.0

The substitution on Saturday was enforced.
he probably decided to take the point he had in time added on or very close to it, hence Morgan, rather than risk going for it with Harriott or Ahearne-Grant.1 -

Depends if we got the Harriott from the back-end of last season who played a big part in keeping us up.Swisdom said:

He's stuck in last season's early form (headless chicken mode).

I think that may be slightly harsh. He's hardly featured this season. Difficult to judge so far.Swisdom said:The Red Robin said:

I think he is a decent player too from the games I saw him play last season. By no means spectacular but will do a job.Henry Irving said:Another let's slag off Bob Peeters' subs thread : - )

I guess I'm trying to understand exactly why it is always Morgan Fox that comes on. As I said, he isn't an obvious choice to help us hold onto a lead from LB or LM, and he isn't likely to be a goal threat if he is played in midfield.
It happened at Brighton when we were 2-1 up - surely that would be a time to bring on a player like Morrison?
It happened away at Brentford and Rotherham, as well as 1-1 at home to Birmingham and Wolves - were we just settling for draws in the last few moments of all four of those games? If so, then why make any changes at such a late stage?
Just seems a bit bizarre to me as to why it is always Foxy, and always with about 1-2 minutes to go.0 -
id hate to think the questions that would be asked if we were not unbeaten , or god for bid 2 points off the bottom1

I do find these threads rather odd. It's almost like you want to criticise Bob Peeters but you haven't got much ammunition. I think it is purely a time wasting activity.0

Maybe read the original post and notice where I clearly say "I'm not having a dig"? I'm not negatively criticizing at all, as he has done a brilliant job.
I've not even said that he shouldn't be bringing Fox on - just trying to understand what the logic is behind it, as I'm sure there is.2 -
I have spent a long time thinking about this and realised I don't care as long as we carry on unbeaten.2
-
He's almost as slow as basey too!2

Tom , you need to take up suduko.0

Yes but any substitute does that, fresh legs and kills time.. why Morgan Fox I think was this guys question? It's a valid point.. is it a habit? If you keep repeating it I think other managers will be prepared for it too, and at his age he isn't the scariest defender to come up against. No disservice to him, as he looks a good player on his dayHenry Irving said:
