I am surprised that an outraged-on-the-behalf-of-others merchant on here hasn't yet labelled the joke some form of homophobic act.

Fantastic - if no one whose politics you disagree with makes the comment you want to froth about, pretend they did so you can be pissed off by it. You should get a job with The Daily Mail...

Was with my Boro mate this morning and he asked if I'd voted yet as well...they'll end up with several hundred thousand votes for a club with 6,000 fans!

It will be the first time in their sorry history that they would be accurate in saying, "they wasn't Millwall..."

Every day when I drive down the North Cray road, I see a sign which say 'Pansies Wall Flowers'. Now I've started thinking about pink football shirts.

Lots of homophobic undercurrents on this thread.

What's wrong with pink? I'm currently sitting in the office with a crisp pink shirt on.

Most of our fans turn up in pink Ralph & Lacoste polos! I voted for option 4, although ideally I'd have it as a 3rd kit and create a link with CRUK or Breast Cancer, following on our great work with Prostate Cancer.

No doubt bought at Lewisham market.
Ouch. A cutting dig. Sorry we're all considerably poorer than you.
I'm sure I saw some of your fans in fake Primark last season.

  • Gotta be the pink option.
Will lead to a lot of "Partial Kit Wankers".... :-)

Why did everyone have to get so excited and put it about everywhere. All it needed was was around 4 or 5 thousand votes for the pink and it would have won. Instead there'll probably be a million and it'll get pulled. Their fan would have voted for option 1 I reckon.

Just shows how much everyone else likes the club I guess...........

This is quite funny, but I do wonder how some people really think this would affect Millwall.

Sure, they've got a larger than average percentage of neanderthals who will, no doubt, be apoplectic about wearing pink, possibly due to being insecure about their sexuality or something.
However, in the main, the club will almost certainly make it a positive for their public image and for their (admittedly rare) decent fans. The idea of a link with breast cancer charities is a great idea and would be a good positive step for the image of the club. IMHO it also has a genuinely realistic chance of happening when you consider Millwall have, relatively recently, been positively vocal about testicular cancer due to the unfortunate circumstances of Neil Harris, one of their all time favourites.

The joke's a good'un, especially in the light of the Christian Dailly shenanigans from a few years ago, but don't get your hopes up. It won't destroy Millwall. It might even make them stronger.

Turned down a shirt sponsorship deal from a pay day loan firm and gave it to prostrate cancer research for nothing last season.

Oh, and only a real man can get away with wearing pink ;-)

They said they discounted votes from outside their database.

Quite funny to see thousands of Leeds, west ham, palace, Charlton fans etc creaming their pants over us playing in pink only to be discounted when it came to the count.

    Hilarious.

So how did they tell which votes came from their database or not when the vote was hosted by a non-MFC website? They obviously realised their cock up and just picked the one the club officials liked.

In any case, it doesn't matter what you'll be wearing next season, it'll still be funny seeing you wear it to Gillingham.

Didn't say it was hilarious, just quite funny. Big difference.

Love it how you talk like we're nailed on for relegation though, 12 games in to the season, lower/mid table with plenty of poor teams below us. It's a funny old league this. I mean, we could almost be on the same points by the time we get to play you at the end of November.
