The simple fact is that we've been averaging just over 2 shots on target per game for the last 6. To get anything out of that game we'd have needed to score all three of our shots on target - we beat Bolton having scored our only two - and imagining our defence will always get us out of it is fanciful at best. It's just not sustainable.
That said, the second half was encouraging and but for the lack of clinical finishing which Vetokele might have offered we might have got back into it. Yes Fulham sat back, whereas they had pressed up on us earlier on (something that Bob's been remarkably slow to respond to) but we at least showed some ambition. Hopefully that ambition will be what we take from the game into the next one - the third goal was the predictable sucker punch and can be forgiven.
