Seems strange move, unless we were getting more in.

Cult hero is stretching it a tad but agree strange is the word if this happens.
  • Strange to say the least.. Whilst he may not be first choice or first name on the team sheet he is an integral part of the squad! It is players like him that are good enough to do a job wherever asked that make having a squad as small as ours possible..

Ridiculous if true, our squad is stretched enough as it is and losing someone who is fairly versatile would be mad.
  • Think his contract is up at the end of the season and Bob doesn't really fancy him

Bob's contract is also up at the end of the season.
In my view we clearly need Wilson in our squad, especially right now.
  • Stupid idea.
  • People probably said this when Morro went on loan...

True, but Wilson has been used quite a lot whereas Morro hadn't.

Wilson is good cover for two positions, right midfield and right back. one of the few in our squad that aren't getting much of a look in that i really wouldnt want to loan out.

Wilson has not just been used as a Solly fill in, but has also been used as a tactical sub, who has made a difference.

Of course it maybe that RC has got it wrong
  • Would be crazy to send him out on loan - hope this is just journo speculation.

His versatility is a huge asset and we're going to get injuries at some stage of the season plus we'll need to freshen things up over the Xmas period etc
  • Crazy, when you have a small squad Lawrie is the sort of player you need.

He's not been the same player since he went swimming with Tom Hanks.

And I still think that was mental.

Wilson is the most versatile player in our squad IMO. Has the sort of ability where you could play him at full back or anywhere across the midfield if need be.

He might not start every game but he is a fantastic game changer.

Maybe he has asked to go out on loan.

As said earlier in the thread, it would be a strange choice to let him go.
  • There's better out there I'm sure... we were all shocked when Morro was being loaned out and we replaced him with someone Peeters felt was good enough. Same situation will no doubt occur here.
    Never rated Wilson anyway...

    Nailed it in one.

How frustrating must it be for him at the moment. To be 3rd choice Right back and 2nd choice right mid.

Given the paucity of our squad, I'd be very reluctant to let him out on loan, although he may be desperate for some game time and also keen to get himself in the shop window if the club are going to let his contract run out in the Summer. He is a strong and gutsy player and one I'd be extremely sorry to lose.
  • Bad move if it were to happen.
  • BBP has consistently shown that he will move on anyone who has shown any discontent.

He did it with Reds, and he did it with Morro.

Maybe, just maybe, Lawrie has shown a bit of petulance that he's not starting.

He played a lot last season, due to Solly's persistent knee injury. It must be difficult, as the go to man last season, to be struggling for game time this.

However, it doesn't particularly sound like the kind of thing Lawrie would do. He seems like a man content to help the team out anyway he can.

    Agree with this.

Last season he made a difference in a poor side playing regular football, which is not really happening now and to be honest has shown in his performances.

Squad cover is essential over Winter, but maybe Bob has a trick up his sleeve.

Blimey the whingers will be scrapping around soon. This would be ridiculous as is the Morrison loan. How have Birmingham done since Morro went there ?

Solly isnt going to play every game, Gomez is young and inexperienced and a bad few games could damage his confidence, and we have 1 other right mid who has already been injured once this season. We need Wilson unless we're getting an 'as good if not better' replacement. He gets his head down and works hard every time he's on and I'd hate to lose that.
