Charlton 4-0 Millwall, a shock for the home support, Igor with a brace, Jackson free kick and a Bikey head and flip.

    (Wakes up)

Charlton 0-1 Millwall, usual service resumed.

    Bore draw, probably 1-1.

To be honest, I'm more excited about Floyd Road afterwards, and the annual competition to see who can do the best impersonation of Jesus Christ on the cross.

There seems to be a lot of people going for 4-0 home win. So comfortable home win 4-0. Oh to be correct for once.

Id like to see Coquelin start. Really impose himself on the game and control it. I think as soon as we start getting in a scrappy game against these, we will get turned over.

We've got a better starting XI on paper and we can keep the ball well at home.

    2-0 Charlton.

    something like that.
Early goal for Igor that results in him being clattered until he has to go off.
The Beast sent off for retribution.

It means a lot more to them than us, so 1-2.

A draw at best more likely a 1-0 defeat.

    It's Millwall.

Hadn't realised it was on my birthday the last time we beat them.

Quietly confident this time although I'm sure I've said that before, can't see them scoring so I'll go for 2-0.

I know. It'll be like waking up in a Jacamo catalogue...

If it's 11 v 11 for most of the game we will win this. Probably 1-0, but maybe 2-0.

Igor struggling to be fit. If he doesn't play then it'll be a 0-0 draw.

Big win and Chris Solly to open his goal scoring account at the Valley - the shot against the Wendies was just a range finder.

3 addocks on my chest, 18 years of pain, never stopped believing!

Shittu would get nowhere near Bikey - I doubt he thinks about doing a somersault.

Get the feeling at one game this season everything will click and we'll score 4 or 5. How I would love that to be on Saturday.

Have a feeling Solly will score, surely we are due a win?
  • In 1980, Vitus Gerulaitis beat Jimmy Connors after a run of 16 consecutive defeats to him. In the press conference afterwards, he said "Nobody beats Vitus Gerulaitis 17 times in a row".

It's not quite that bad as that, but 3 wins in the last 18 league encounters is not a good record.

For those predicting 4-0 wins, our best win ever is by two goals whereas we have been clobbered badly, including 6-0 in 1931.

Oh, to hell with it, I'll go for a 2-0 win. The next 10 encounters though will bring 0 wins 2 draws and 8 defeats. Enjoy it while it lasts.

  • BP: Igor Vetokele is still struggling with his calf.
BP: We will assess on Igor on Friday to see if he can play on Saturday.

It's all geared up for Pigott to balloon one off his shin in the 91st minute.

  • 2-0 to us. Igor and JJ.
  • Three points for the Addicks - don't wish to contemplate any other outcome thanks.
We need the points to drive on from what has been a very solid start under Peeters.
Not only are we better on paper but what we saw at Reading was the ability to control a game - our team is getting stronger!
  • 2-0 charlton. Igor and Bikey.

Undefeated at home all season against a team we haven't beat for 18 years. It all hinges on if Igor is fit or not for me.

    Igor fit - 2-0 win
    Unfit - 0-0

So if you're Ian Holloway what do you do?

First off make sure you play Shittu, Fuller and Bailey (I suspect his doubtfulness is mind games).

Then you practice set pieces over and over and over, we are vulnerable from them.

Play with a high tempo, close down and challenge a lot, then go again and again.

If you take the lead you shut up shop.

If it is 0-0 you shut up shop until the last 15 when you're kicking towards the Millwall fans, because late on Charlton can be vulnerable.

If you fall behind you continue to keep it tight, because Charlton don't run away with games.

Show those continental Charlton Nancy boys it's a man's game, let the referee know too, 'hard but fair ref, man's game', accuse Charlton of diving and simulation all over the place. Particularly go for Yoni, Bulot, Igor, Johan, and Harriott.

Overload on the right and pressure Fox for throws, corners, and free kicks.

Wind up and kick and needle Bikey all match. especially suggest the ref, and the world is against him.

Give the ball to Ricardo as much as you can.

If I were Millwall my approach would be something like this.

If Charlton play risk free (and those cross field passes between Bikey and TBH often give me the jitters), and keep the ball, we may eventually let Millwall run themselves into the ground. It does mean we have to try to be cool and efficient when we have the ball, and with the runs we make, and in a highly charged game it may be difficult to show cool restraint.

If Millwall play defensively and invite us on, possibly hoping for a smash and grab, then I think we will have a chance.

Mind you as it's Millwall it seems to be written we will lose as usual, the only jolly from that is that Ollie keeps his job and annoys a large section of Millwall fans.

If it is a crap referee then all bets are off and anything might happen.
