Addicks cruise to a 3-0 victory, Igor brace and something special from the iceman on the wing, meanwhile big Bob sings, the times they are a changing.0
-
I'm pretty confident Nicky Bailey is out & I wouldn't say we are weak at defending set pieces.
We concede about once every 13 corners or something like that.1 -
Predictions not necessary. Away win. But if we drank Calsberg......0
-
Feel its one of our best chances to beat them...we must end the hoodoo 2-1 win1

Whatever happened to optimism?
OPTIMISM
The term is originally derived from the Latin optimum, meaning "best". Being optimistic, in the typical sense of the word, ultimately means one expects the best possible outcome from any given situation.4 -
I'm still yet to see us lose this season......1

On paper we should win, but as we know it doesn't always work out like that. I'll take a 1-1 draw0

Was the second John Hendrie (whatever the spelling was? spurs loanie)
Blimey don't remember the Johnny Robinson? Typical madman celebration (mean that in the best of ways, total commitment to the cause, wouldn't mind a couple with his passion now !!!!)
Bailey strike can watch that over & over &over shame it wasn't a winner0 -
An excellent point. If we were weak at defending corners we'd have the worst goal difference in the league.Covered End said:I'm pretty confident Nicky Bailey is out & I wouldn't say we are weak at defending set pieces.

It wouldn't matter if we had messi up front , we still wouldn't score & they will get they usual scrappy goal
1-0 to them.0 -
You make it sound so easy yet only 2 managers in the league have managed it so far. Think our lads deserve far more credit for what they've done so far than they get.seth plum said:So if you're Ian Holloway what do you do?
First off make sure you play Shittu, Fuller and Bailey (I suspect his doubtfulness is mind games).
Then you practice set pieces over and over and over, we are vulnerable from them.
Play with a high tempo, close down and challenge a lot, then go again and again.
If you take the lead you shut up shop.
If it is 0-0 you shut up shop until the last 15 when you're kicking towards the Millwall fans, because late on Charlton can be vulnerable.
If you fall behind you continue to keep it tight, because Charlton don't run away with games.
Show those continental Charlton Nancy boys it's a man's game, let the referee know too, 'hard but fair ref, man's game', accuse Charlton of diving and simulation all over the place. Particularly go for Yoni, Bulot, Igor, Johan, and Harriott.
Overload on the right and pressure Fox for throws, corners, and free kicks.
Wind up and kick and needle Bikey all match. especially suggest the ref, and the world is against him.
Give the ball to Ricardo as much as you can.
If I were Millwall my approach would be something like this.
If Charlton play risk free (and those cross field passes between Bikey and TBH often give me the jitters), and keep the ball, we may eventually let Millwall run themselves into the ground. It does mean we have to try to be cool and efficient when we have the ball, and with the runs we make, and in a highly charged game it may be difficult to show cool restraint.
If Millwall play defensively and invite us on, possibly hoping for a smash and grab, then I think we will have a chance.
Mind you as it's Millwall it seems to be written we will lose as usual, the only jolly from that is that Ollie keeps his job and annoys a large section of Millwall fans.
If it is a crap referee then all bets are off and anything might happen.3 -
I don't think it's easy for Millwall, I'm trying to say that if they play on the deck passing football, we are more likely to win, so they may have to use other methods.
We can stand up to them if we don't melt, and impose our game on them.
I would like to think it is going to be something like Vorsprung durch TechniK v headless chickens!0 -
