Henderson, Wiggins, Jackson

I think everyone can now see how important they are to the we way play this season. When are these fellas back to full fitness and when can we expect them back on the pitch?

According to all the experts on here, I thought number 4's time was up and Wiggins wasn't the same player since his injuries and needed to be replaced by Fox? Someone correct me if I'm wrong. :-0

Spot on Redchaser, add to that when Henderson made half a mistake against Wigan for their goal (wiggins mainly)
a couple of posters said Pope should be in.
Pope will make some saves that Hendo won't, but Stephen is a steady eddie of a keeper who is very calm under pressure as anyone at the Norwich game will endorse.

Be careful what you wish for.

    Oh god no
  • They'll all be back a few weeks earlier than they should be , under performing and delaying their return to full fitness .... Still Ffp frugalness and the excitement that comes with it will lead to increased crowds at The Valley and ever more thrilling performances as this wonderful new era gathers momentum towards the seasons end

Etheridge was a big part of our turn around today. Cemented his place in the team for me.

More chance of the Japanese keeper coming in YTU is number 1 at Standard now

but as Callum says Etheridge today has proven he should be number 1

Steady on. Etheridge did well in his first game but has a long way to go to overtake Henderson as number one. And don't write off Nick Pope yet - he's had a few good games, alongside the shaky ones.

Also heard yesterday that Henderson's injury was much worse than originally thought and he won't be back for several months. Etheridge looked comfortable and fairly assured yesterday. Trouble is his loan expires after the Ipswich game on Tuesday evening - so hope someone is on the phone...

Regarding Etheridge we can at least say he's earned the start for Ipswich. Perhaps if he performs well again he will overtake pope, for me I need to see a couple good games

After Stephen Henderson underwent exploratory surgery on his shoulder this week, Bob Peeters confirmed there was positive news on the goalkeeper’s injury.

Following the FA Cup defeat to Blackburn Rovers last Saturday, the Charlton Head Coach admitted there were concerns that Henderson might not be available to play again this season.

However, the surgery revealed the injury was not as bad as first feared and the Addicks stopper could be back in training in the next few weeks.

Peeters was pleased with the news.

    “It’s positive,” he said.

“They went into his shoulder and they found a few bits that needed stitching up and hopefully in a few weeks he can get back into training.

“The damage was not too bad and he could be back earlier than we thought but then again it’s an injury to his shoulder and with goalkeepers you have to be careful.

“As it stands now it’s more positive than we thought and hopefully we will have him back to full fitness as soon as possible because the more players we have available the more competitive we are.”

Rhoys Wiggins (back) and Callum Harriott (hip) will be assessed before the match while Stephen Henderson (shoulder) has resumed training but is still undergoing a rehabilitation programme.

Franck Moussa (knee) remains sidelined with a knee injury.
