Absolute class. Pace is amazing. Only critisism I'd have is that he very occasionally is a bit casual. But then that is often the case when you have so much natural talent, I should know.....;-)0

i did suggest this after seeing him on his 1st game back. i think he is out of contract in the summer, therefore free to talk to other clubs.0 -

You may be right but I think during that time there has been a number of managerial changes and its Pardew who has now got him back from Scunny and placed him in the first team where he has been a revelation. It may just depend on what sort of agent hes got. Thats where I am nervous.0 -
If he helps get us promoted and then buggers off to bigger and better things then no hard feelings from me. It'd be a shame though because he's a great player.

I know it's sometimes foolish to make premature assessments of players and accepting that he will, because of his confident style, make the odd error, but I must confess that so far I have not seen a better left back wearing a Charlton shirt and that includes legends like Sir Chris, Minto and Mark Reid. He seems to have it all, he's got pace, physical prowess, two feet and reads the game well. I really hope we can sign him up.0

I suppose given the way he has played since he came back from Scunny why did we not see him earlier? Or has he just hit a point where all of the potential has suddenly come good.
I do agree with Bing he has it all potentially and is probably delivering most already. We should sign him up now.0 -
I think what is so good about him is that he is equally good in defense as he is going forward.
Normally with a full back there is a weaker aspect but with Kelly I havent seen it.
If he has a weakness it may be discipline as I saw one of his Scunny sendings off and it was a cracker. But thats minor.

I was impressed again by Youga last night he is a very intelligent player with great pace and the way he dealt with scannell early on in the second half showed his class and raw ability. We will certainly need him if we do go up so we must sign him up asap, and also varney impressed me last night, from being the most frustrating player to watch earlier this season, Varney over the past few games has really improved and looks very promising but i think he would be better suited on the wing and move Sam into an attacking midfield position, and lastly get Ambrose out he is f**k*** useless, but overall great performance last night we showed that scum who we really are and who the best team in South London is.

Curbs saw something in him and brought him to the club even picking him in the 16 on at least one occasion.
He lost his way with the other managers and, whilst now is not the time to question SuperAl's judgement, he is only in the team now because there was no other feasible option to play left back.
I think we would have been happy to offload him to Scunthorpe permanently were it not for the injuries to our other left backs.
Hence my post last night that there is a fine dividing line between success and failure. It is also encouraging that Pardew appears to be a "lucky" manager in that he stumbled across Youga by accident.

Len, I agree with you. One of the slight paradox's that Curbs displayed was on the one hand being able to pick them to join the club but on the other hand not to pick them in the team. You won't find me criticising him though.0 -

Only some of Curbs football was boring.

Given the budgets he had it was a 'remarkably high success rate'. Cant think what was the best but Kinsella and Robbo certainly gave value for money. God that seems an age ago now.0 -
Don't think Curbs scouts 12-15 year olds, so it didn't have much to do with him.
