If anything the kettle would be better as coffee machines tend to not quite boil (to avoid the boiling water bringing out bitterness in the coffee beans) whereas the kettle's boiling water will bring out more flavour in the tea.sadiejane1981 said:
Apparently it's sooo much nicer, and it is also a very expensive way of drinking tea, I still use the kettle myself, not because I neccessarily prefer it but because it's cheaper.North Lower Neil said:Your husband is using a coffee maker to make twinings tea? Has he not heard of a kettle?

This is where I jump in late, and recommend that you buy a nespresso machine, as the coffee is better, and you can get a decent milk frother to make the drink of your choice.0

I don't drink coffee but my wife loves her Tassimo. She says the Carte Noire Cappa is better than the Costa one. They seem to have more variety abroad - may be worth checking out those going to Belgium!0

This, I would be lost without my nespresso machine and the coffee is first class, my machine has a built in milk tank and it can be adjusted for different levels of froth from latte to cappuccino.Rothko said:This is where I jump in late, and recommend that you buy a nespresso machine, as the coffee is better, and you can get a decent milk frother to make the drink of your choice.
As you can tell I am a frustrated barista.

This is my little baby. But I have to admit that even I thought the "cup warming drawer" was a step too far.
It's got the milk dispenser/frother thing but I reckon I've used that maybe half a dozen times in six years. The big plus is being able to bung 1 kilo of beans in the hopper and then just dial up your strength, type and quantity and leave it to do its thing. That's maybe three weeks worth of coffee for us.
The downsides are the water reservoir which with brita filter in place only gives around a day's worth of coffee before refill and cleaning the brew head every couple of weeks. 2 2

I think those artichokes need a few more minutes mate.4

Not my actual machine - picture from on-line catalogue. ( I really don't like artichokes.) However, while we're on kitchen appliances, I do have that oven (it's a combo oven/microwave and self-cleans by running super hot and burning all the yucky stuff off. Neat. I also have another oven which is even neater. You just slap stuff like pizza straight on to its ceramic surface. and the base lifts up into the oven, it's superb. Here's another piccy.SuedeAdidas said:I think those artichokes need a few more minutes mate. 0 0

Back in my yoof, I was going on a camping w/end with the scouts. One of the happy campers was delegated to get in the supplies and bought that stuff as he thought it was specifically for well, camp sites. Which, presumably it was originally? One of the most disgusting things I have ever tasted. Chicory, yuck!Dippenhall said:Or for those with a discerning palate. 0

He was following convention, an essential for all scout camps, with no such thing as tea bags it made sense compared to lugging a heavy tea pot around. Also took condensed milk better than tea.cafcfan said:

2-2 and went to a replay in which Dolce's keeper was sent off and Tassimo went on to win 3-0.
Tassimo face Gaggia in the next round.
