Give the bloke a chance. Welcome Guy and good luck.13
-
No surprise. Anyone with half a brain, will support him & the team & see how it goes.
If he's successful, then great.
If he's not, then he'll join the ranks of every other football coach/manager that get's the bullet in due course.
Charlton 'til I die.27 -
I'm upset that we were duped into thinking that other managers would be considered. However, I do actually think he'll be quite good (as long as he's given long enough!)2

Absolute joke appointment
I didn't trust Duchatelet much when he came in I am actively hacked off with him and his minions.7 -
Give the guy a chance5

I agree with both of you and I do not doubt he will receive a degree of a warm welcome from everyone. I mean we are not the type of supporters to boo a new manager or anything and everyone wants him to succeed. However everybody's clear dissatisfaction with this confirmation is not completely down to Guy Luzon himself, it's a result of the influential people at the club, to be quite frank, treating us supporters like mugs. That's how I see it anyway.Clem_Snide said:

He is far from my first choice, but he has the job. I don't give a monkeys what has and hasn't happened at Liege.
What he does from now on is what matters.
He'll start with my support and will retain it until there is a reason for me to withdraw it.15 -
There was similar negativity about Riga but by the end of the season most if not all fans wanted him to stay. Hope he does well for us.
Shame the club feel the need to put out statements which give the impression they will be considering various candidates, interviewing etc.14 -
Don't have anything against Luzon, and only want the best for Charlton so good luck to him.
However, am far from happy. RD and katrien can do one.2 -
I'm genuinely lost for words.
We're losing our identity as a club we're now just part of a shit network!1 -
More Worried that this Doesn't really annoy or suprise me...1

Total joke football club , KM and RD must think we are stupid they just keep telling us shite .
I will still support the club I love but totally pissed off with the RD circus .6 -
I really cant understand the bad feeling towards this guy. RD picks some-one he can work with. I'm open minded and really cant see why others aren't. He comes with a much cv than peeters did for a start5

How can you slag Duchatelet off? The pies are lovely and we've only averaged a different manager every three months since he turned up. Some fans are so unreasonable...Carter said:Absolute joke appointment

Embarrassing state of affairs.9 -

If he was that good he would of got the job before Two Bob Peeters.5

No RD picks a puppet who's strings he can pull we are the Hearts of English football.redman said:I really cant understand the bad feeling towards this guy. RD picks some-one he can work with. I'm open minded and really cant see why others aren't. He comes with a much cv than peeters did for a start

Hard to feel connected with the club when nobody in it is English.
Luzon probably thinks the championship is some micky mouse league. I remember Buyens saying on the OS how surprised he was at the size of opposition stadiums and the general quality.2 -

Viewfinder will be pleased another manager comes in who is younger than Jonnie Jackson........11

Interesting to see the atmosphere on Saturday. Becoming harder and harder to support the club with the way things are going.1
-
Obviously he needs to be given a chance and has my best wishes, but on the face of it this is not exactly an inspiring appointment. Bringing back curbs would have given the club a big boost, but i suppose that was never going to happen.0

If he fails it won't be the same as every other firing as normally when they are hired there is some thought into getting the best man for the job rather than the most available guy.Covered End said:No surprise. Anyone with half a brain, will support him & the team & see how it goes.

Charlton 'til I die.
I've got no real motivation to root for the guy when he has only been hired as he accepts being the chairman's bitch and putting up with no investment.

How much is it to go and watch ebbsfleet nowadays I think they might be getting my money rather than rolland billy smart1
-
If this goes wrong, I feel sorry for Mr. Duchatelet. Hope he can run fast0
-
I actually think the atmosphere will be even better then it would had Bob stayed in his job and none of this malarkey happened. It's times like this when the club is messing us about that we will all stand together and sing louder than ever.jamescafc said:Interesting to see the atmosphere on Saturday. He's only been given an 18 month contract - until June 2016.
Katrien said something on the lines that the next manager was for the long term, didn't she?
