Damian Matthew

Not sure done himself many favours today , poor team selection. and tactics ...... would not surprise if he gets moved on with new coaching staff coming in.

Yep all Damien's fault. Nothing to do with the way the club is being run. @colin1961‌ just think how bad it would be if Jacko had played? (shakes head and mutters)

  • Got thrown to the wolves getting the nod for this match. Gutted for him. Last thing he probably wanted or needed. Bears no blame whatsoever in my view.

Could be thrown to the Wolves next week also.

If nothing else he just needed to motivate the squad 'fighting spirit' and all that....and it seems he failed to do that....maybe he should stick to coaching kids
  • Apart from possibly starting Watt, what other options did he have in terms of team selection?!

Been a while since he was just coaching kids. Impossible situation to throw him into. Some deep problems on the playing side over some months, when was he put in charge after the work permit issue....last night?

Are you suggesting Matthew is for the chop?

I thought the team selection and positions was close to what I would have done, and was encouraged when I saw it. Seemed ok for about ten minutes, then just fell apart but I can only assume this was due to the players not being interested in putting in a shift. Wouldn't blame Damian or Luzon for that abject showing, that was down to the players.

Likewise, I saw the team lineup and posted on the Match thread that I thought it was a balanced lineup.

And it was, compared to some of the teams Peeters had put out recently.

    It just didn't perform.

And that was down to the players.
