    I honestly haven't got a problem with people being drunk, and making a lot of noise in support of the team and creating an atmosphere. There is a wider issue that people conveniently neglect, which is about respect for others. So if somebody stands defiantly in front of an old geezer who can't stand -and supports the same team - does that only look sad and pathetic to me? It isn't about standing and sitting, it is about respect. I'm happy standing but a youngster who can't see the game might not want to come again. Is it really so unreasonable? When people go to a football match, does it absolve them of all responsibility to be remotely civilised?

    Slightly off topic: At the toolbox (when we pulled the lions tail) a couple of seasons ago, I was standing near the front of the lower tier and there was an old gentleman behind me. I politely asked him if he wanted me to sit down so he could sit down and see the game. His Reply "No thanks mate, I don't want to F***ing sit down in this sh*thole". :smiley: Legend!

    The 80s mate proper days out ,most of the football was shocking ie Brighton away 7-0 defeat, ok still just a young lad but great fun as most of us got older away days v Pompey
    Leicester square , Piccadilly Circus etc , oxford , reading , Peterborough proper days out loads more can't remember ,even our exile away from the valley the few of us that still went away had a great time and some hairy moments, and let me tell the younger lads we saw some shite football but we had a great time.

    We also had respect for other folk especially the older people however rowdy etc we got.

    Loveable rogues.
