Worst Duchatelet era XI

YTU
Nego Wood Dervite Evina
Gower Petrucci
Church Sordell Obika Tudgay
Had to go 4-2-4 cos could not decide which 2 out of the 4 was worse
Not putting PP as I have not seen enough to pass judgement
never saw Koc either
I actually like Reza
And nothing against Wood or Dervite just cant think of anyone worse ATM
This might change once I have thought about it and seen others incase I have missed anyone0 -
Thuram
Lepoint *mistreatment of Morrison* Onyewu Nego
Koc Tudgay Petrucci Bulot
Parsley Reza
Reza and Bulot are harsh as I'm not sure they showed their full potential in a CAFC shirt.0 -
Think Koc is a bit harsh never played for first team and was only signed on youth loanCallumcafc said:Thuram

Take your pick.
It's ok though, it will all turn out alright the end.2 -

I believe that this is the worst Duchatelet era XI:
I. That clown of a goalkeeper
II. Announcing Luzon’s appointment before the paperwork was completed
III. Bullish comments dismissing the importance of fans
IV. Appointing Peeters ahead of Riga
V. Allowing Colin Powell to take the rap for the pitch
VI. Club restructure; dismissing good people whilst appoining puppets
VII. Insufficient squad for Championship
VIII. Sub-Standard players foisted on us
IX. The Deceit around the Luzon Appointment
X. Owner thinking that he can pick the team
XI. Sacking Chris Powell21 -
Thuram
Nego - Onyewu - A.Trialist
Bulot - Petrucci - Lepoint - Reza - Koc
Tudgay - Parzyszek
Cant really include Mark Gower / Simon Church / Marvin Sordell / Richard Wood as they came in prior to the Duchatelet era...
Reza and Parzyszek to fill the gaps1 -
So did Evina. If we're going to include atrocious left backs who came in before Roland than Danny Seaborne is getting mightily pissed off that he hasn't been mentioned yetForeverAddickted said:Thuram

Fair point... Forgot I had left him in there... (Amended now)Garrymanilow said:

Can I add messing about with our kit? Changing the shirts to an equal amount of red/white and red shorts was just the boards way of letting us know that our traditions and wishes mean absolutely nothing to them..........Stig said:I believe that this is the worst Duchatelet era XI:

Turned up, never even got on the bench and therefore contributed absolutely nothing, whilst on our payroll and therefore having a negative impact on our Financial Fair Play position which Roland is so precious about - on that basis he should be one of the first names on the teamsheet. I'd put Thuram ahead of him for actually going beyond contributing nothing and being so turd that he directly contributed to points being lost.paulie8290 said:

Has anyone got a list of ins and outs under duchatelet0
-
So the conclusion is we have always brought in decent players, we are not premier league no more have people not noticed? The days of Paolo Di Canio, Claus Jensen have gone - The Gary Dohertys and Alan McCormacks and similar signings have been going on for years since the premier days and before that too.
The anti bashing of anything Charlton imo has gone way of the top.
Quick question how many of you guys were actually around watching Charlton before the premier years.
Ill going back to eating my prawn sandwich now toodaloo .2 -
Hamer
Solly Morro Dervite Wiggins
Wilson Stephens Poyet Cousins
Yann Sordell
Kind regards
Roland9 -
I'm going on players that have been selected by managers appointed by Roly.
Thuram
Nego
Fox
Oneywu
Bikey (this is purely down to recent performance)
Lepoint
Buliot
Petrucci
Tudgay
Church
Polish Pete (harsh given game time, but I have no doubt in my mind he would have been pony)0 -
I think that's a ridiculous comment. There are countless players you could argue didn't show their full potential in a Charlton shirt. In fact so many that it would be time consuming even starting a list.Callumcafc said:Thuram

I don't care about their potential, Reza and Bulot were / are utter dogshite for us, and are therefore more than worthy of their places in the worst 11.1 -
What we had:
Hamer
Solly Morro Dervite Wiggins
Wilson Stephens Poyet Cousins
Yann Sordell
Our last game:
Dmitrovic
Solly. Onyewu. TBH. Fox
JBG. Buyens. JJ. Cousins
Watt. Church
What we could have had with little extra outlay:
Hamer
Solly. Dervite/MM. TBH. Wiggins
JBG. Poyet. Stephens. Cousins
Yann. Vet/Watt6 -
Surely selling our best loved number 9 and not replacing him for a year could be squeezed in there?Stig said:I believe that this is the worst Duchatelet era XI:

I think you are all just far too negative on this forum and what we really need to focus on is the Roly era best 11 which defines the brave new Belgian dawn that some of you drama queens just don't appreciate....
1. Vegetarian foccacia
2. New pitch
3. Pre-season tournament against other Roly teams
4. Igor for first 8 games
5 errr...
6. mmmm...
7. That's it then
8. No hold on...
9. What about what's his name?
10. Poyet?, Stephens? Yann? Dervite? Morrison? Sordell?
11. No not them. I was thinking of someone else.
12. I know, that manager who we didn't want but then turned out to be very good but was sacked because he wasn't good enough but then got appointed to the more important Roly team because he was too good for us.9 -

I thought Dervite was a quality player! Harsh to even consider him! In terms of a ball playing Centre back I'd say he's the beat we've had since the prem.. yes better than Ben Haim... him and Morrisson was the perfect combination! But I think Dervite was the real loss!
Also Petrucci showed some quality and I think given time he would have been quality for us.. I'd take him right now! He is exactly what we lack a forward looking creative central midfielder.. He wasn't what we needed at the time we needed battlers and he wasn't that..
Had we added him to the squad at the beginning of the season I think we'd all be big fans and he'd have solved the creative midfielder problem... had we have added a proper number nine then we would probably be in a different position now.... assuming we had covered any injuries with loans.. wishful thinking I know...3 -
Petrucci had something about him. Coming back from injury in the first couple of games he looked well off the pace. But last game against Blackpool he showed some real quality.
Not sure anyone has put Obika on here, was toilet last season, Sordell contributed more.1 -

Also agree that putting Petrucci down is harsh as he didn't play too much with us and was rusty at the start but did look like he had some touches of quality.

Dervite was excellent; really don't think that's a minority view2

I think it's harsh to include Hamer, Dervite and Stephens in there. It was the shysters before who let their contracts run down and by the time Roland came in I think they'd made their minds up to move on. Stephens was sold so we'd get a fee, and Hamer was never going to stay after his contract got close to expiring. With Dervite I get the feeling Bolton were willing to offer much more money, which is why they're in such a mess financially. It seems pretty clear that Diego doesn't like Roland though so he can definitely have that one hung on him. Costing us Poyet and Yann is not the way to make yourself popular.Athletico Charlton said:What we had:

I do actually think letting Michael Smith go without giving him a chance was a mistake of Powells or whoever made that decision.. I think it was just after Roly took over so Powell may not have hahad much of a say in the decision... but even if it was Powells call he had enough good points on his locker to make up for the odd mistake.. everyone makes mistakes but the number of mistakes made by the new owners in one year is huge. What's worse is they were completely avoidable and everyone could see the problem except the decision makers...bobcafc7 said:
So he didn't bring in Ben Haim, Gudmondsson ect then aswell as renewing wiggins and jacksons contracts and I know everyone loves a Roland bash I don't agree with a lot he has done but think it's harsh to blame him for all those players leaving sordell , Stephens , dervite ect they was all out of contract with less than 6 months to go on their contracts surly that's MS and TJ's fault ?grumpyaddick said:I think you are all just far too negative on this forum and what we really need to focus on is the Roly era best 11 which defines the brave new Belgian dawn that some of you drama queens just don't appreciate....

No one ever really blames Powell for letting go of Michael Smith , Bwp , simon Francis or why Stephens wanted to move north so bad?1 -
Agree... Dervite is class... people wanted petrucci to be a winger but he wasn't which disappointed people and affects opinions of him..forzajuve_27 said:

Also not you grumpy but it's harsh for people to put Lepoint in seeing as he's only played about 25 mins of football ,
would also be interesting to compare the last two chairmans worst teams , Murray - dean Sinclair - Stuart fleetwood ect , MS and TJ - alonso and eggert Johnson ect.
