Luzon reaction to Norwich game

The guy Riga replaced? Though his record was pretty good at Liege which means we wont get him.Raith_C_Chattonell said:Its time for Luzon to go back in the box with all the other puppets ... trouble is who is coming out next?

Apparently football must be lenticular, when you crouch down you see a completely different game0

And yes, I googled the word lenticular...7

Anyone who thinks the club is better off without characters like Powell, who genuinely gave a shit, is kidding themselves.Greenie said:
I assume you are referring to my defence of Roland?O-Randy-Hunt said:
In your own words Greenie. Move on. That's what we were told in August.Greenie said:Just fuck off all off you, RD, The Liar, The Luzer. Just go. Do you have no shame? You are all a disgrace to my football club.
But you see, some people are intelligent enough to give a new owner a chance (all the initial doubters had no idea if RD's ideas would work, if they say they knew he would fail then they are liars) and as I said I will support RD and his ideas until he gives me reason not too. He was right to sack Powell, however now he is so wrong with his business model that unless we do something we will be relegated, so now is the time to shout.
You could add Varney to that list as well.
Powell wasn't sacked because Roland felt improvements were needed, he was sacked because he wasn't part of the 'plan' (whatever the hell that is). What we are seeing now from the owner is just a different side of the same coin.
People might say they knew Roland's ideas would fail, but that doesn't necessarily make them liars. They may have just realised that Roland's ideas are anathema to what football, particularly lower league football, is about.
You can have a soulless 'matchday experience' at a top european club where tourists will flock regardless. At anywhere outside that type of environment, you will end up with the sort of slow death that we are now witnessing.24 -
I will have to get the GPS in my car checked out. I obviously went to a different place last night and watched a different game! It's bad enough already without this fucking clap trap! Don't know why Duchatelet doesn't do the after match interviews it would save Luzon having to learn his lines.0

I think the crouching is down to him being prepared for his nemesis, Cato, to leap out on him at any moment.
This will be confirmed Saturday, when the players run out to a tune by Henry Mancini.5 -

Do you think he knows he is shit and feels embarrassed, does he know he's shit, but needs the money or does he think he's the man and can't work out what's going wrong?
I would love to know what's going on in his head.2 -

I just don't think he knows how to motivate the players. They are all down at the moment. Its up to him to get them motivated and the only way to do that is to have them believe in him.
I think he thinks he is a good coach. But he needs to win the players over. After they start believing the results will change and he will get more fans on side (couldn't bring myself to say win the fans over). At the moment its like we are going out there and playing the same way each week and even though we know its not working we are hoping it will work one day. Nothing changing other than our defence getting worse and worse.1 -
I have watched that press conference.
Anybody know about the psychology of body language, and can explain why Luzon seems to touch and caress every part of his face?0 -
It generally indicates discomfort and is also a way of calming oneself down when under pressure.seth plum said:I have watched that press conference.

Sounded like even the press couldn't be bothered. They're probably thinking "Why bother? it's the same old bullshit from someone who hasn't got a clue and we can't bloody understand him".
I think it would probably be far more productive if he were to ask them questions about the game............1 -

We were playing Norwich, an in form side racing up the league and we are as low as low can get confidence wise, got off to a reasonable start but conceded first and that set the tone for the first half. Yet, this team who allegedly 'dont give a shit' came out after the manager's (who they allegedly dont like) teamtalk and turned it around. We scored two goals (both strikers) FFS. Thats something to celebrate on its own these days!!!! Ok so we lost out to a late goal but these things happen when on a run like ours. At least we looked like we wanted to get a winner and the players looked pretty distraught at the end (considering they allegedly dont care)
On to Brentford and a much needed win. Watt & a rejuvenated Igor up front to give us a threat and surely Bikey and TBH cant play that badly again.

Quote of the night. “I think in the first half we want it too much. We run too much but with passion but without organisation." Er. Well, if the team lacked organisation, isn't that Luzon admitting he hasn't done his job properly?

I intend to. Someone has to be the 'voice of reason' although i am sure the venue will be full of numpties who all trot out the same claptrap that Luzon is clueless, a puppet, its not my charlton anymore blah blah blah. It never fails to amaze me that the knife gets twisted even though there is a far more plausible explanation e.g. Bulot played cos RD picks the team.......Really?? Or perhaps it wass worth giving him a shot following a decent Afrcian nations cup ( its not as if anyone was doing any better in huus absence)ElfsborgAddick said:Taxi_Lad said:Youre all getting so boring! It might be me suffering from early onset dementia or the fact that I am in a rotten filthy anti Luzon mood .. whatever .. whenever I hear him speaking (I just cannot watch him), I have not the first f***ing clue what he's on about .. hissing, spluttering, always seems to be seeking what to say in English .. Luzon .. get lost .. you are simply hopeless .. Now prove me wrong and mastermind 5 wins on the trot and all will be forgiven0

In order to defeat your enemies you need to understand them.seth plum said:Luzon ought to contribute to the post match thread, his comments are like a bloke watching a team he knows nothing about, and gives an opinion on how they played the game.
Like does he have any influence?
Yeah he does I forgot he picked Bulot to play.
Hold on, Bulot is on loan from Standard Liege isn't he? Nah Seth don't get all arsey, Bulot was picked simply because he was the ideal choice for the game as decided by.......hang on I need to think this Bulot thing through again...Liege Player....bit of exposure.....transfermarkt.......but tonight Charlton actually needed his brilliance.....wibble........wobble........
1) why did Liege go top of the league last season under Luzon then draw most of their games in the play-offs... Then lose to Anderlecht
2) why did Peeters get the job over Riga
3) once Peeters stopped winning and we lost Henderson and others to injury why didn't Duchatelet authorise more budget for loans
4) why sweet FA in the transfer window except Watt in Tucudean out
5) why pay a £4m survival bonus last season to the old owners and then get relegated this time
6) why put a 30 year old graduate trainee in charge who has three months work experience at Liege.
The answer is twofold.
A) M.Duchatelet is prioritising player value over team performance forgetting that better clubs sell their players for more
I suspect he is a Palace fan
Lads this is a train smash and one is best off detaching oneself and watching from a safe distance. I have it on good authority that my sentiment of the other day are reflected in the opponents...
I stated we are facing the return matches and that all of our opponents will relish the fixture. A Norwich City employee confirmed this to me and that the view of our club is far from favourable.
What M.Duchatelet has failed to recognise is that if you have some new fangled ideas you need competent execution and a pretty hefty emergency fund to paper over the cracks.
The home games vs Brentford and Huddersfield will confirm our fate on the pitch and people will have to decide what to do next.2 -

Out of interest, at what point will you see, or at least admit, that there is something very wrong going on at the club? What will it take for you (and a few others) to suddenly realise, "hang on, 'this' isn't working"?
It genuinely isn't a dig, but I'm curious as to how those who are still supporting GL, RD, the 'network' etc. (which I fully respect) are able to keep up their optimism? Will it be when we slip into the bottom 3? Will it be when mathematically, we can't stay up? Will it be when the attendance is so low, it isn't actually a pleasure going to watch them in a half empty stadium?
Or maybe you won't? Will you support them regardless of what division we are in or how we are playing etc?2 -
You really do come across as a twat coming out with remarks like that, and that genuinely is a dig.Taxi_Lad said:

Yes @braydex I probably will support my team no matter what league but I think we'll stay up. I do admit that all is not rosy at the valley but scaremongering and bedwetting isn't helping. The negative vibe must feed to the players who need more support at this time.
As for thousands feeling pessimistic and anti RD/network I honestly believe it's in the main a case of jumping on the bandwagon. Some seem to get a perverse sense of enjoyment from slagging off all things CAFC at the moment.
i hope I can make it next weds. Come and introduce yourself. Apparently I'll be Billy no mates in the corner;)2 -
