Many thanks Barnie. The time had come for the trust to be set up and your enthusiasm and eye for detail made sure it was set up right. I suspect that the Trust will be an integral part of what being a Charlton supporter means and needs both now and in the future, lets hope the clubs owner will see this too.2

Whatever anyones opinion on the trust is, surely everyone must agree what a massive amount of work Razil must have put in since that first meeting.

Well done @razil for all you did in setting up the trust and the ongoing work, which has seen it grow. Not everyone agreed with you but even the dissenters know how hard you have worked. I have no idea how you found the time to do it all Barnie and you will be a difficult person to replace. However thanks for having the 'vision' to get the Trust off the ground.2

Thanks for the kind words, not sure I deserve all of them though.
It has taken a huge amount of energy to get the Trust airborne and then at a decent steady altitude. But there comes a moment when you feel first of all worn out but second that its time to step back and let others take over. If you keep doing 3 or 4 roles, the intensity just isn't sustainable, but its also then hard to step back without a complete break, particularly with my perfectionist character traits Overall I think its healthier to have some turnover too, at the same time we are a pretty small village.
Particular thanks to RW (pico) who is a bit of a star, and altho we are chalk and cheese we complimented each other well. Ken probably needs a break too (I mean that respectfully) but still has a lot to give. The TB is pretty strong now, but there is room for others so don't be put off if you fancy pitching in.
For me personally its easier to do graft for something you love. This labour of love restored my faith in myself and allowed me to do things I was good at while trying out new things too, I have learned a great deal. I was stuck in a comfortable but dead end job, and hopefully am on a new more fulfilling track.
I'm not really a fan of an over confrontational style, and emails etc are a blunt tool, I also do regret I was not able to build up more of a rapport with KM and I did try at first, but perhaps I could have tried harder, or done something differently.
As I wrote in an article for the club programme back in November/December 2013, fan involvement is the default setting at Charlton and probably uniquely so. The Trust to me represents that, it can be a hugely positive force and we began to demonstrate that before the new adminstration took over.
I hope the powers that be can recognise that, and look again at how communication is handled. I really think there are some very small simple steps that could make the situation we all now find ourselves in far more productive and beneficial to all.
I will say one more thing and its pretty obvious, but remember we are all here for the same reason and that is our feeling for CAFC - far more than an ordinary little football club in a little corner of southeast London.

Should also add life would have been a lot harder at the start without the generosity of defunct Essex Addicks, Bromley and Jean NWKA as well as one or two other sponsors who helped us fund some of the early big runs of TNT. And the goodwill of lot of fans and people who continue to sign up as Members.

No, the Trust rules (as it the case with all Supporters' Trusts within Supporters Direct) is that the chair is elected by the board. An announcement is imminent.0 -

Leading something where there is a lot of emotion involved is tough. @razil has done an excellent job to get this off the ground. I am sure he agrees that the job is not completed but he has laid a platform and a standard that others must seek to follow. Hats off to you, Sir.1
