Blinding day. My 2 year old son spent much of the walk on my shoulders and is absolutely knackered, as am I, but sooooo worth it.

    Well done all who walked
    Well done all who donated
    I'm off to bed :-)

Maybe next time @AFKABartram - my pace with Milo on my shoulders wasn't especially rapid so give him a year or two of growth and I reckon we'll be competitive :-) my blisters may have gone by then too

If you couldn't take part today, there is going to be another event soon (hopefully), we need to get logistics in place but it will be a lot less strenuous :-)

One of our regulars did the walk and we at The Long Pond were very happy to sponsor him.
Coincidently drove past the walkers this morning just before 10am as they were going up Avery Hill Road. So if you were there and a large black German built limo was hooting his horn at you, it was Chirpy.

The start of that with a transit van looked like an LTE video but quality afterwards. Great stuff.

Just put on the rest of the money I collected from my local the Star on Plumstead Common. I raised £127 from the regulars there which is great so thanks to them. That took it over 12k.

I was chatting to one of the Upbeats in the liberal club after the walk - I asked if he was playing and he said

"Yes. Me and my best friend Perry. I've got my new red and black boots from JJB sports and I will be showing my Tony Watt skills" I gave him a high 5 and he ran off to be with his mates.

Carl from CACT has asked me to pass on their 'gratitude to all of your members for their unbelievable support in taking on the walk today and of course all of those that donated to the event and helped us achieve an amazing total'.

I'm sure there will be some more summary stuff in the next few days

@AFKABartram Next time you get someone moaning about this site, or you're feeling disillusioned about two bald blokes fighting over a comb on some other thread come back here and remind yourself why you bother.

Brilliant result. Well done all, and nice for the club to acknowledge CL on the OS report.
