    ! thought John Barnes was a loan from Newcastle, i seem to recal it finished of his contract at the Barcodes though but, they were reported to have carried on his wages, no doubt with us contributing...

    But i could be wrong!

    Antti Niemi was on loan from rangers but left early to join Hearts.

    When Jackson signed on loan did n't we also sign Kevin Scott on loan from Spurs?

    David Whyte was on loan the first time he came.

    I'm pretty sure David Whyte was on an extended loan in his first incarnation as a Charlton player, not a short-term contract, and that was at Upton Park not the Valley.
