Most unreasonable fans of the season awards 14/15

Football fans are stupid. I don't think this is a particularly controversial statement. We've all moaned and groaned about something only to be proved completely wrong. Furthermore, it is common place for fans to pursue the belief that they actually know more about football than the players or the managers.

But sometimes, fans take it too far and their criticisms of their clubs are so ridiculous that people outside of their circle just think they are plain unreasonable.

Here are some contenders for "most unreasonable fans of the season".

Newcastle fans: We all remember the signs they held up at St James' park. Silly pictures of Pardew with a W/D/L ratio that spelled out a welsh town. The amount of abuse that the silver fox received on a weekly basis surely made his life hell. But why couldn't the fans see that on the 10th January when Pardew got his first result as Palace manager that he had left Newcastle in a very respectable 10th position and looking up? Now that Newcastle look increasingly like getting relegated, most of the toonarmy are still of the belief that Pardew was a crap manager and that him leaving was the right decision. Verdict: Morons

Leicester City fans: What a magnificent job Nigel Pearson did with Leicester in the 13/14 season. They won the league with 102 points, 9 more than 2nd placed Burnley. Leicester carried over their good form in the championship into the Premier League where they started brightly and deservedly beat a Manchester United side 5-3 who had spent £200m on world-class players. But suddenly Leicester fans realised they were not winning every week in the Premier League, even though they had spent a fraction of the money the top clubs had. This was deemed unacceptable and all of Pearson's achievements in the previous season had been deemed irrelevant. The fans wanted him out and believed they would kick on with a new manager. Verdict: Deluded

Cardiff City fans: After booing the players after only the second minute of Cardiff's 1-0 loss to Middlesbrough in mid-September, Ole was sacked as Cardiff manager and Russel Slade was eventually appointed manager in October. He took over a team in 17th who were playing poorly. Fellow addicks will recall an extremely woeful Cardiff side coming to the Valley and somehow holding out for a 1-1 draw in December after Johann scored an absolute worldy. It is fair to say though that Slade has done a pretty reasonable job in turning round their fortunes. Not only did they finish the season beating Forest away, but Cardiff actually finished above Charlton in 11th position. Slade, however, still receives dogloads of abuse from the fans who simply think he is unsuited for this job. All signs seem to point to Cardiff having a much better season next year. Verdict: Bastards

Any other contenders for most unreasonable fans of the season?

As this is a Charlton forum I'm sure someone will be along to knock our fans soon enough.

West Ham fans need a kick up the arse for making even me feel sorry for Big Sam. Giving him pelters every week because they're only 9th (9th!) in the Premier League, as that doesn't fit their perceived manifest destiny of dominating the planet and turning it claret and blue. All based on the fact that over 50 years ago they had a centre half that was quite good. Idiots.

Not a realistic award as Newcastle fans would win it every season tbh.

it is my opinion that West Ham will significantly deteriorate if Big Sam leaves. Why the fans cannot see this is...well baffling.

.........and the CAFC fans who tore into Luzon on his arrival?

Was that anger aimed at RD or was the, "You don't know what you're doing" a cri de coeur after the surprise dismissal of Big Bob?

The abuse Luzon got was possibly the most embarrassing moment in all my years of supporting and loving our club.

Surely chelsea fans have this award sewn up...the ones wearing replica shirts dancing round the pub when they won the league...the same ones that couldn't remember when they last won it...the same ones that couldn't tell you the first team squad...the same ones who don't know who they're playing next

    I hate chelsea fans.

The bloke in the Chelsea shirt walking past the bar at about 2PM yesterday.

Liverpool fans from Basingstoke who still think they are good enough to compete for the title.

    Arsenal fans from south London.

Astounded no-one has mentioned the "ultras" who throw things at opposition players, and think wearing all black makes them "'ard".

Season ticket holders of certain premier league clubs can no longer be considered as un-reasonable for the money they put into their respective clubs.

For me, the most unreasonable fans will always be west ham fans. They actually think they are under achieving.

To be fair in the curbs era a lot of our fans would be considered un-reasonable for sure!

What we'd all give to have the Curbs days back now!

The Joni Mitchell lyrics, "You don't know what you've got 'til it's gone" spring to mind.

The good times will come again and are just around the corner.

after finishing 2nd a close to winning the league
    bad investment from Suarez money
    poor showing in champions league

I don't blame Liverpool fans acting that way, its like they have gone back in the last 12 months not gone forward

Wenger had a one-season wobble in the same season that Utd were going to have the predictable post-Ferguson wobble. Otherwise they would have finished 4th and winning the league would have basically been a miracle.

Liverpool will never attract players of Suarez's calibre so anyone that they buy in after Suarez is arguably a bad investment.

All the English clubs struggled in the CL this season and Liverpool had just lost the player that got them a top-4 finish.

If Liverpool fans think that they were going to get anything above 4th this season then they're an even bigger bunch of deluded fools than I thought. We binned our manager because 7th wasn't ambitious enough, look where we are now.

Spurs fans. I know quite a few. You don't hear a peep out of them when they lose. All over Facebook, Twitter, gobbing off in the pub etc when they win! As an example, I appreciate they're their biggest rivals but when they beat arsenal earlier in the season for the first time in however long, you would've thought they'd just won the champions league!

Spurs Fans....yes we know they won the double 150 years ago, but that does not give them the divine right to think they deserve to be in the Champions league.
