A few years back the great BBQ catastrophe at ours was the widget in the second of only two cans of cold Caffreys failing. (You can tell it was a few years back, as Caffreys was in vogue..) The result (flat Caffreys) was not all that, I can tell you, and the ring was pulled right at that thirsty point when the sausages were about to go on. Partly my fault for only having two cans in....
I seem to recall writing to the makers to complain and getting a voucher for some more of the stuff in reply.
You were indeed lucky with the gas escape.0
