[cite]Posted By: Goonerhater[/cite]he is in the record books, he is still about, his face is on the huge flag. He aint CAFC ,never was.Legend of CAFC yes but CAFC never.

I'll counter that with made his name at Charlton, was sold to balance the books, came back when the opportunity arose, refused to go even after they sacked him and retained his registration, stayed and helped us return from Div 3, was eventually shamefully not offered a contract and now spends his time back here.

[cite]Posted By: Oggy Red[/cite]Our current 2nd choice keeper who's not only come through the ranks butis a proper Addick, just like us - really deserves our support.More on Rob Elliott and some extracts from the Bristol City programme player interview:

"I've been a Charlton fan since I was three, and my family lived in Charlton until moving to Gillingham when I was eight".

He wrote off for a trial - and got one because the club were looking for a U17 keeper.

He added: "I always thought it was a bit like fate because they were my club and to get the call was weird and brilliant at the same time"

"I'm a Charlton fan and it's great to be out there warming up in front of the home fans, some of whom I know."

On Saturday we need to let this player know that we know he's a real Addick!

yeah good on him, proper addick i didnt know that, nice scoop oggmeister

Thanks, Ollie ...... let's take Rob Elliott to heart.

In these days of mercenaries and can't be arsed pro's, we've got a player who's Charlton all the way through.
And even wrote his own letter to the club to win a trial.

Let's sing his name on Saturday!

    'Psycho' Watson :o)

He used to be mates with my Dad's wife's boys when they were all kids - and always in and out of the house.

Another frequent visitor at that time was a young George O'Dowd - Boy George. They all lived in the Shooters Hill/Woolwich Common area.

I love it when a local lad and a true fan comes through the ranks to the 1st team.

    Peter Reeves was from Eltham.
His Mum & Dad used to go to most of the away matches on the Lewis's coach in the 70's.
And, Les Berry's Mum & Dad, too a few years later.

Len ..... you're usually up late. Lenny Glover was a local lad too, wasn't he?

Brian Kinsey. Can't get much more Charlton than him.

Supported and played for the club, turned down a move to another club as he wanted to play for Charlton, born in Charlton and part of one of the founding families from Eastmoor St, played for the vets team.

Still seen at games (well you can't miss him can you)
  • it was Brians birthday on Tuesday 70 years young played over 400 games for us a true charlton man

    i salute you mr Kinsey

Another one from the days of John Hewie-

Derek Ufton - if I remember correctly he dislocated his shoulder, went off and had it put back in then came back on the pitch - before the days of substitutes. I think he is now a club director.
