    He shouldn't feel the need to apologise. He has every right to react to the disgusting racism he was subjected to. In many ways I wish he had adopted the Eric Cantona school of how to react to fan abuse and lumped the scumbag.

    It was Frimpong himself on his twitter account who said it was only one person, that is what I was going on and in terms of Russia being backwards I meant more in terms of their outlook towards minority people given they are well known for racism and homophobia, although appreciate I did not phrase it too well!

    I am certainly not making excuses.

    Perhaps Frimpong meant his reaction was aimed at one person because listening to the video clip it sounds like half the stadium was making monkey noises
