I was there last night. Played against Seven Acre & Sidcup on TTFC training pitch over the back. Heard it all kicking off. Spoke to a few of the TTFC backroom staff who said a few faces went down to watch the game and around 100 Polish turned up with baseball bats etc, tried to get into the game but the OB had a tip-off. Then there was plenty of pavement dancing but not much else.
The lot that turned up outside the ground were shouting racist chants towards black players and then started smashing up cars.0 -
@copwatcher: Shout out to @ClaptonUltras who stood up to the EDL in Thamesmead tonight. Hope everyone is OK #AlwaysAntiFascist
@edlnews: Fascists chanting 'we hate n*ggers' at Thamesmead FC tonight https://t.co/5GreuNHjiT1 -

I know Henners, if only people knew how many Polish fought and died for us. They took Monte Cassino for heavens sake, after us and the Yanks had tried for 4 months, and helped save our arses in the Battle of Britain. A brave nation and great soldiers and airmen.Henry Irving said:

77 years too late. If only they had supported the Czechs instead of Hitler on the Munich agreement, the world may have been very different.smudge7946 said:The polish fighting fascists? They're only 75 years late.
But as pointed out by Greenie, they were some of the best pilots in the RAF and essential to code breaking efforts.

Incidentally read recently that the Germans broke British navel codes during WWII2 -
The brave buggers were charging Hitler's tanks on horseback FFS when the invasion happened. And the Polish Jews in the Warsaw Ghetto were brave buggers too.
