Give one of the kids a run

Surely now is the time to give one or two of the youngsters a run in the team. Wont do any worse and we could unearth a diamond.

    Didn't Curbs play Kevin Nicholls against Millwall at the old Den? Don't think it helped his Charlton career.

    Konchesky and parker were both 16 when they made their debuts under Curbs!

    Nichols was the new Bowyer but had a bad injury and never recovered fully hence the float around the Championship and below.

    True, I guess they (Konch and Parker)didn't suffer from early exposure. I guess you have to be careful and pick the right kid.

    Curbs put them in, gave them a rest, putthem in, gave them a rest in other words did it gradually.

    I remember him saying you can drop youngsters in and they'll burn out or do it in stages.

    one of the sides above us,palace,have been playing a load of youngsters this season.

    Pardew said earlier in the season that perhaps one or two could feature before the end of the season.

    I believed him then, not so sure if I do now.

    Excluding the Prem players (Parker etc), our youth team has also produced a half decent Championship side. So perhaps we should stop trying to sign every player under the sun and show a bit more faith in our youth system.

    Fortune has maybe 2 or 3 games a season where he looks solid. he is so prone to errors that i dont know what you get from him. Dodgy at best shoddy at worst

    the only player i would want to give a chance would be wagstaff but if sinclair and cook can't get into the team he hasn't got a chance.
