A1 roadworks

heading right up north Friday morning, last time did the journey there were lots of roadworks on the A1 once you got past Grantham ... anyone know what the route is like at present i.e. better to look at M1 or other alternatives? Thanks :-)

    I returned from Scotland last Saturday via A1 , A14, M11, M25 without any issues. My advice would always to use the A1 over the M1

    I went up to Blackburn the other week on the M1 and M6. Too many roadworks. Can't speak for the A1.

    I drove to Dunbar using A1 on Monday, great drive. I agree with Dennis_inthelastmin A1 much better than M1.

    Avoid the M1 Salad one set of average speed road works after another going North I always use the A1.

    A1 was great and trouble free, thanks for the heads up.
    I hate the M1 it has to be the most boring road to drive on.

    But you do have to go perilously close to Biggleswade on the A1...
