First VDGG album was this year although I'd not really call it a 'great' album. Opening and closing tracks are quite something though0

So many popular bands released their debut albums that year: VDGG already mentioned but also This Was by Jethro Tull, Shades Of Deep Purple (and The Book of Talliesyn), Fleetwood Mac, 2 albums by The Steve Miller Band and plenty more. None of them would be labeled as classics, though.
I'll add Spirit by Spirit as a top album for '68.0
