Also got a flag from @superchrissypowell for some reason4 -
Advertising a vote that we can't participate in? Outright provocation!
The black and white fern is the best there by a zillion miles0 -
Dunno... Quite like the first one and the fourth one
I like how they've done images of the flag against those of other nations and on merchandise0 -
They are all pretty poor, a couple look like what you would see flying outside a garden centre, or camping equipment exhibition.1
-
My favourite didn't make it to the final selection.
Some alternative entries here.

First one looks good0
-
If I was a kiwi I'd go for number 1.
Then again if I was a Kiwi I'd also be married to my sister.7 -
I like the one that looks like a piggy's tail.0

Why are they replacing the flag anyway?
Or is it just an attempt from the current leader to pointlessly stamp their mark on their country's History?1 -
They're going to have a vote next year to decide whether there going to change it at all.0
-
The NZ Government has wasted so much of the taxpayers money on this. Absolute joke!0
-
So if they decide not to change it at all... these designs were a complete waste of time?DRAddick said:They're going to have a vote next year to decide whether there going to change it at all.

Think they should just go for a black flag with the silver fern and the southern cross on it. Simple really but then so are they.0

I think any flag design should be able to easily be drawn in a recognisable form by a 10 year old.

First and last look classy.,1
-
Five if they have to change.
I am guessing like the British government responding the mouthy minority in Scotland, the government of NZ are responding to pressure from anti-monarchists in their country with a referendum? Perhaps the promise of it was a vote winner in certain areas last time they went to the polls?0 -

Libya used to have the easiest flag to draw...0 - Sponsored links:

The first one,0

Black flag, silver fern and southern cross on it would be the best. So number 1 but in the colours of 40
-
Looking at them again... I'd like No.4 if it was in the same colour yet with addition of the Southern Cross on it (Also in B&W)0
-
Wot no sheep!0
-
Or is that Australia .......or Wales?0
-
How did this not make the final list? It clearly projects a strong image of New Zealand.Leuth said:

Number one or four for me.0
-
First or last one0
-
I think number one. It's better than four or five because it has all the colours included. The red, white and blue to represent the country's heritage and connection to the UK, and the black as the 'new colour' of New Zealand. No 2 has all these but the fern leaf design is just so much better.
The only thing missing for me is perhaps the Kiwi (bird) or a Kaori tree.
If I'd designed a flag to symbolise what New Zealand means to me it would have included a 1972 Hillman Hunter, a cow's pelvis, a scree slope, midges and killer kiwi fruit.2
