founder of Earth, Wind and Fire has passed away. Grew up listening to EWF and Fantasy is one of my all time favourite tracks. RIP Maurice, truly a legend.

    I was fortunate enough to be a part of a big band at university, both as a pianist and conductor. We catered mainly to drunk student functions (lots of fun).

    September invariably got us all partying, and in the year I conducted, we had developed extensive choreography while playing, I got even more drunk and sloppy with the arm-waving, and we had all round good times. It was one of our closing songs and everyone was in a great mood after.

    While I am immensely sad to learn of his passing, I'm also very grateful for the great times his music has lent myself and others - both within my circle of friends and elsewhere.

    You are right Paddy, September is another favourite. I know what I'll be listening to on my iPod tomorrow.

    This is a bad year so far for losing musical and TV/Film stars....another one today..I loved EWF, grew up with their music....RIP Maurice.

    RIP....always loved EWF and finally got to see them live in 2009 (not to many of the originals were playing then though)...in Singapore of all places, a really good gig/show it was to.

    Wonderful 'poppy' soul band leader, producer, drummer, song writer, probably underrated compared to many 'soul legends' .. I play their albums quite often when driving .. from now on I'll play them with a hint of sadness .. R I P Maurice
