    More 3% debt?

Most likely not because reading between the lines this will be all or part funded by grants. I don't know that for sure but that is my guess. As this is all about the community etc it will attract grant money to cover some or all of it.

My understanding was the the original plans for Sparrows lane were for a £6m re-build but with all of that coming from the Football Foundation and other grants.

But that would have meant having CAFC and CACT alongside each other in the same buildings and the same facilities and Roland didn't like that so now CACT will have a separate hub. But I stand to be corrected if I've got that wrong.
I think you have it right (refer to my comment above)
  • excuse my ignorance but what exactly is the relationship between CAFC and CACT ?

It also looks as if there will be access direct from Footscray Road rather than using Sparrows Lane.

Wouldn't want the nasty public and local kids going on courses using the same entrance as our superstar players.

Not that I blame the players but Roland and Katrien seem to want Charlton to be at the heart of the community just as long as they don't have to mix with them.

At least we won't have to train at Horwich working Mans Clubs ground.

Good idea for CARD. Someone get down there sharpish with a colony of rare purple crested newts and bang goes RD's evil plan for a player breeding farm.

I think this is something to do with the need for a certain number of pitches to be available and there wouldn't be enough during the redevelopment of the main facility. we've offered to upgrade theirs and we'll share while works progress. Something like that anyway.

I'm painting them now. Slippery barstewards (The newts, not just Rolie and Kat)!

Was told that work is being stopped at training ground can anyone shed any light on this , thought RD might be starting to think bollocks to all this and wants out ?

Probably because the contractors have not been paid. CAFC are not the quickest at paying invoices.

He'll be withdrawing the only thing we agree is a good move... not sure he's being to clever if that's the case.

My Dad worked for a company that supplied products to the club whilst we were riding high in the premier league and they were in a constant battle to get paid even then.

I'd like to think so but just asking if anyone else has been told of this ?

The club's cash flow forecasts hadn't anticipated the win bonus from the weekend, we'd better not win at Ipswich and QPR as well!

Ditto here as well, from a contractor I know as opposed to inside the club so no further info other than things are paused currently
  • I guess he must have started planning for life in L1
  • A planning application for more pitches on another site doesn't look much to me that he's thinking of leaving. Quite the contrary in fact.

Planning applications typically take months to prepare and cost little to submit. I don't think you can read anything into that either way. In any case it seems to be mainly about levering public money for CACT and Footscray Rugby Club.
  • Who owns the piece of land where FRFC play ? Has that changed hands any time recently ?

    Leased from the council.
  • Do we trust the council ?
