Yep.
Just look at the stats. How bad were we from Feb - May in our last 4/5 seasons in the Prem? Bloody awful, especially at home.
Just like West Ham this season.0 -

it's about the whole season not the final third
anyway mr dj you are a newcastle, arsenal, liverpool or whatever fan and charlton are somewhere in your list but i'm charlton and only charlton so there probably lies the difference i want my team to become an arsenal or liverpool(success wise)!!0 -
I want to enjoy watching Charlton. I have not enjoyed watching them as much as I thought I would this season addmitedly, but, I have no interest watching them struggle week after week in the Prem. Simple as that.
West Ham have Derby on Saturday, that will be interesting.0 -

There was a fundemental reason why our players could not perform after reaching saftey in the Prem.
I said the fault lay with the management. That management are now elswhere and the same seems to be happening.0 -

at charlton or west ham ... cos i know last year the end of season poor form materialised at charlton not west ham hence they stayed up and we didn't unforunate for me but lucky for you!!0 -

And they have every right.
West Ham have an excellent history, and a reputaion for playing football the right way. I respect their pedigree. The first true accademy has produced some excellent players. It's a shame they have been left behind. I see them as a bigger club than Chelsea. When I were a lad, Chelsea were nothing more than a team of has beens living off a Cup win in 1970.0 -
of course the have high expectations,they won the world cup in '66.

History, pedigree, academy - my arse. I hate these clichés. If Chelsea were nothing but a club living off a cup win in 1970, surely the same applies to Wham now. What exactly have they achieved in the past 25 years then?0 -
I was talking about when I was a lad, I DID say that.
Football, if you have not noticed has changed a bit in the last 15 years. Chelsea would not be part of the elite if it wasn't for Abramovitch, indeed they may well have folded or a least gone down the Leeds route.
West Ham, when I was a lad, won the FA Cup twice, got to the final of the Cup Winners, and produced some great players.
Just look around the Prem today. The area they cover have produced some greats which have not necessarily gone to WHU, Adams and Terry to name but two.
East London and the surround is a hot bed of football, always has been, always will be.
Like them or not, they DO have a history, and an illustrious one too. "History " goes back more than 25 years0 -
Just to put the cat amongst the pigeons here chirpy Chelsea won the league in the 50's & West Ham have never won it. I agree with what you say about east london being a hotbed for youngsters however.0

btw i agree with chirpys post,although not a major westham liker, they are amuch bigger club than chelski, they'd be nothing if it wasnt for the sneaky russian. westham have a good history, produced many more good youngsters than chelsk, so i agree wholly.0 -

Exactly what I was getting at but Chirpy (why the name change btw?) choose instead to be sarcastic in his reply. When you were a lad Chirpy the fact even then was that Chelsea had won a League Championship and West Ham hadn't. In fact the stats would have looked like this:

Not really much difference between the two clubs - depends how much you value a League Championship v cup wins.

Got to put you right on that mate, they probably had about 1500 there on saturday (the biggest allocation we offer is 2900 to away fans so not sure where 4k came from). But I was impressed with them considering their position.0 -
