Richard Cawley in SLP: No room for further mistakes

Comments

  • I sat down with Roland Duchatelet recently and left feeling no clearer as to how he was going to make a success of his tenure in SE7. Or how he would repair the yawning chasm between the fanbase and his board.

    Welcome to the club Rich.
  • You weren't too wrong, that really cheered me up.
  • Awww... I got a mention :)

And those still clutching at hopes of a late surge to safety

You'll all be bowing down to me when we survive... Or you'll be wondering why I've not posted in a few months when we dont.

    Very good article.

The point about players and staff leaving if they had another club to go to says a lot.

    What a mess!!

Quite. I can't help but compare 'what is' with 'what was'. Some of us saw the arrival of Duchatelet as bad news. Others took longer to see the reality of his 'plan'. Some have walked away from the club already and many more will soon do the same. Expect our decent players to leave, too, especially if, as seems likely, the club is relegated. Much of this mess could have been avoided. Sadly, someone knew better.

I can't believe the owner is so blinkered that he can't see the problems.

If it was his electronics business failing, he'd surely step in and restructure.

    Wouldn't he?

Tonight has seen the last, flickering glimmer of hope extinguished. One win in god knows how long, not a chance of seven or eight in 13 matches. Thanks Roland, thanks Katrien. I hope you both get really painful piles.
